Glad you enjoyed! The 30CD EMI Vaughan Williams set is a priceless diamond gem for me to explore for the rest of my days. He's such an amazing composer who radiates the British culture, history, and the beautiful remote landscape through incredible music. Top 10 for me definitely.

That RVW is excellent. However, a search for that version on Discogs turned up nothing.

Not sure how you feel about Clamazon, but there are a few used CDs of this recording for a tad north of $5 (plus shipping).

I've been getting in to this Schoenberg quartet today. The music is very inventive and interesting. The soprano vocals in the second half are an acquired taste but I dig them.

^ nice. I'll try and bang this out later. I've been doing some Webern/Boulez (the later DG sessions) and Shostakovich string quartets (both Hagen SQ albums - great recordings btw).

I just bought some Chandos titles from Berkshire Record Outlet. I got the Berg, and Webern chamber music discs by the Schoenberg Quartet. BTW, they sell all Chandos titles for under 9 dollars. Much cheaper than any other site. My Schoenberg String quartets CDs are packed away so I'm doing the YT thing. And I like following the score with that New Vienna Quartet recording.

Frank, if you get around to the Schoenberg quartet, try the Petersen Quartett recording. This one really knocked me out for great sound and playing. Christine Shafer is the vocalist.
