Anybody here who knows a good 'sounding' recording of Faures Requiem?

There many, many recordings of good performances. If you want something fairly recent in excellent sound try the Nigel Short recording on the LSO label. The requiem is usually paired with other works so you can consider that as well. The Faure / Durufle Requiems is a popular pairing. But the LSO is really good for top notch sound.

I've owned the Atlanta/Shaw/Telarc recording (1987) for a long time and is my go-to, but it is the only version I own.
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

Thanks - I was considering the Telarc (they are usually good), but 1987 can be hit or miss for a CD. Sometimes rather harsh treble.
I will check out the Nigel Short one.
