Jay Wasco and his Fractal Harp

Could be old news to you guys, but, just in case.....

Jay designed and built this beautiful instrument (along with a couple others) and is one of my personal favorite artists.
If you haven't, check him out.

Why is it called "fractal"? (and I do know what a fractal is.)

The first sentence in the Wikipedea Fractal definition reads, "A fractal is a natural phenomenon or a mathematical set that exhibits a repeating pattern that displays at every scale." I imagine this is why, when the bar across the strings of the harp is moved, it changes the key while remaining correct in the corresponding scale of said key, almost like an autoharp. Makes sense to me.

I only know of this guy from a couple of jaw dropping remixes he did for JG Thirlwell. Will have to check these out!

I like his elastic sense of key signature in that first one, will check him out further...also, I may have to get someone to build me a baritone electric fractal harp, it seems intuitive.

Fripp should reconstitute Crimso around Jay
