Overall worth it, although some songs on the 4 cd set are repeated even 3 times from different gigs. In fairness, there are quite a few more than subtle changes to arrangements that I personally like just because they're different. YMMV.

I haven't watched the dvd yet (did listen to all the music from it on the audio version disc).

Worth the price of admission for me is the 24 minute Scheherazade that is killer!

I think I'm finished buying Renaissance music. I counted and have at least 9 different versions of "Ashes Are Burning".

Cool! I was curious about getting this one, so now I think I just might pull the trigger on it. Thanks for the insights!

One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums.
Bill Frisell - That Was Then from Good Dog Happy Man

This live version does not have the detail and interplay, but makes up for it with sheer awesome.

    Michael Mantler - Something There

Interesting band, for sure. Mantler, Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Mike Stern, Nick Mason, and the strings of the London Symphony.

This sounds like something I would love to hear. With the demise of record stores, I fear I shall never find it. Where did you get it, if I may ask?

Amazon. They have the Relf & Annie cds interspersed, but it's there.

I just looked....scroll to the 3rd page of Renaissance on Amazon.

Thanks, but I'm not an amazon fan (excepting the tall warrior ladies of the same name, they're hot). I'll try anywhere else first.
