Yeah, I remember sold out concerts at the old Richfield Coliseum, which was quite a feat for a band whose popularity was mostly regional. The packed gigs at Blossom, a gig at the BGSU Student Union, where everyone stood on their chairs because they couldn't see due to a very low stage. Good times.

Weather Report - The Legendary Live Tapes

For some reason, the past 2 weeks I've been listening to nothing but WR and Anthony Phillips, except for a couple of spins of the new Peter Baumann release.

I had no idea Pedro was an accomplished bass player. I saw him with the PMG a couple of times back in the 80s.

Years ago I ordered one of his albums, but it never came in. I now see about 15 albums at importcds. Will have to pick up something.

    Reid, wideopenears:
Yes he is, specially of the fretless bass with a big influence from Jaco Pastorius; he is a multi-instrumentalist.

For example, he played bass, guitar, flute and synths in the second album of Alas/Pinta Tu Aldea: (highest recomendations: perfect combination of jazz, tango and progressive rock IMO!))
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdnFHvVlAdI

Before Pat Metheny, there was Serú Girán (supergroup) in which he played electric and fretless bass and did vocals, it was a project of Charly García plus David Lebón and Óscar Moro.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo0nymfAiMo
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8mbKL7v5Dw

He was part of the first "incarnation" of Spinetta Jade. (excellent jazz rock combo! IMO!)

He is a prolific musician and a great poet too, has 2 books published I think!.
    More info:
    His site (english/spanish)
    http://www.pedroaznar.com.ar/english/index-desktop.html

I have several of his solo albums and each one has that special "something" ... :

    - Pedro Aznar/Same (1982):
    His first one:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46f_XLljpF8

    - Contemplación. (1985):
Metheny, Mays y Gottlieb appeared in "Verano en Nueva Inglaterra" & "23".
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrTUO3GofnY

    - Mudras canciones de a dos (2003):
Pedro's first record to be entirely dedicated to duets.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOj6yeKBlzQ

    - Caja de Música. (2000).
Poems by Jorge Luis Borges set to music and performed by Pedro Aznar with special guests.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsc-FyrJvSQ

    - Parte de Volar (2002):
A turning back to "la canción popular" and the argentinean folklore.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmJEyirRpZc
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAztSLpJKDY

    - Aznar canta Brasil (2005):
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt6-G-KAiic

    - Quebrado (2008):
    From his page:
"A double album with two views that complement each other perfectly.

A CD of powerful, electrifying original songs with deep, soul searching lyrics. Songs that explore the pain of loss and the fleeting character of time, the blurry line between love and hate, the brevity of life and the lessons of adversity, the fragility of joy and the quest for a place in the world.

A second CD of favorite songs of Pedro's, many of which were the soundtrack of his early youth.
Music by emblematic songwriters in vibrant versions charged with personal meaning."

    - Puentes Amarillos - Aznar celebrates the music of Spinetta. (2012)
