My wife found a live concert video from the Smashing Pumpkins current reunion tour that they tweeted earlier and she's watching that now.

Nice. I got to see them in Nashville back in July, and it was a pretty great concert. Billy is still pretty strange, but the dude can play (and has written some great songs IMO). It was also really cool getting to see James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin on stage -- Jimmy was probably the one I was most jazzed about seeing.

Very worthwhile to catch these guys if they play near you.

Billy is a friggin' goof, for sure. And he makes some great music, though I only became a fan after my wife exposed me to them. It's her favorite band by miles.
And his guitar tone and style are really intriguing to me.

We biffed it on that one. They kicked off the tour in Phoenix and we didn't go because it was a Thursday and it's a 90-minute drive and I go to work at 6am. :/

But if they do come back we're gonna go for sure.
We've caught them a couple times before here in town, but that was several years ago, on the Oceania tour, and Zeitgeist before that.
I really like Jeff Schroeder, too.

I guess those creative types tend to be rather eccentric. And I totally agree about his guitar playing and the tone he's able to get. Him and Iha both can tear it up pretty well.

Didn't really become a fan myself until around 10 years ago, after my cousin introduced me to some of their non-radio tracks. The only ones I really knew before that were "Tonight Tonight" and "1979", neither of which were bad songs but I just heard them so much on the radio over the years and didn't know just how much different their other music could be. Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie are probably my favorites.

Man, if I had drive 90 minutes one way and had to work at 6:00 AM the next morning, I'm not sure I would have gone either. Maybe when I was in my 20s, but probably not now.

Schroeder is really good too, I agree. The band they have on this tour is pretty great.

Thanks to Rick L. for turning me onto this work. It's a beautiful ballet score!

Quite different from Feeney's Dracula score, Reid!
