Bizarre new piece from Marco Minnemann-
"Henry Cow always wanted to push itself, so sometimes we would write music that we couldn't actually play – I found that very encouraging." - Lindsay Cooper, 1998

It would be cool if they could find master tapes of stuff like this in the vault and release it in good sound.

    Tonight's menu:

Yezda Urfa -Boris Not quite as good as Sacred Baboon imo, but still one of the masterwerks of American Progressive Rock. Essential.

Thinking Plague -Decline And Fall I know this got a lot of run around here, but I would grade it as "good, but not great." It's always interesting, but never goes for the juglar. At no point does it up the emotional content and drive the point home with force. A nice, cerebral album that could have been next level with a bit of punch here and there. First listen for this one.

Artful Dodger -Honor Among Thieves Their 2nd, not as good as the debut, but still a nice Power Pop/AOR offering.

Don Preston-Works.Preston, keyboard player for the early MoI and a composer in his own right, seems to have a sizeable archive of tracks he recorded over the years. This compilation shows Preston as a gifted classical/new music composer. Many of these compositions are quite striking in their excellence, showcasing his talents as craftsman and arranger. The earliest piece here dates from 1965, and i wish there was a YT or other audio clip i could post of these works. In any event, i highly recommend this cd.

An ok "cover" album by this excellent band:
Between the Buried and Me - The Anatomy Of.

Next in line, their best IMO:
