    Song Name = Album Name...Your Top 10

Sunday morning's a good time for a new top 10 thread...so...Your top 10 favorite songs where the song name was the same as the name of the album it appeared on. This isn't meant to be a list of every one you can think of, but only those where that "title" song is your favorite song on that album

    I'd go with...

    Grand Hotel - Procol Harum
Scary Monsters and Super Creeps - Bowie
In the Land of Grey and Pink - Caravan
    Eliogabalus - Devil Doll
    Strange Days - Doors
    Three Friends - Gentle Giant
    The Wake - IQ
Birds of Fire - Mahavishnu Orchestra
The World Became the World - PFM
    Phaedra - Tangerine Dream

Procol Harum - A Salty Dog (on Grand Hotel, I prefer A Rum Tale to the title track)
    The Cars - Heartbeat City
Joni Mitchell - Don Juan's Reckless Daughter
Mike + the Mechanics - The Living Years
Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence (not quite technically true; the album is Sounds of Silence)
    Carole king - Tapestry
    Deep Forest - Deep Forest
    Deep Forest - Boheme
The Police - Synchronicity II (a bit of a cheat)

Can't think of more right now. Very often I find the title track is something inferior, perhaps intended to be "radio-friendly" or "accessible".

Limiting it to one album per artist. Something like this:

    fish - vigil
    echolyn - mei
king crimson - larks' tongues in aspic
dire straits - brothers in arms
    mark knopfler - local hero
chris isaak - speak of the devil
alan parsons project - eye in the sky
    marillion - afraid of sunlight
    camel - stationary traveller
simon and garfunkel - bridge over troubled water

This list wasn't made by thinking comprehensively because that would take too long -- for example I didn't think about any Beatles album.

I'd have gone with Nightmares, Sanctuary or Monkey Island.

Hmmmm, too late to rename the song then?

Okay, I get it-only albums where the title track is my favorite. Hmmm, not very many. I will skip the albums where the title track is just one song (Thick As A Brick, Tubular Bells, Amarok, etc...)

    Gentle Giant - Three Friends
Anthony Phillips - The Geese & The Ghost (by far my favorite on that album)
King Crimson - Islands (tough call, but I think its my favorite from that album)
    King Crimson - Lizard
King Crimson - In The Wake of Poseidon
    ELP - Tarkus
    Steve Hackett - Spectral Mornings
Steve Hackett - Please Don't Touch
Renaissance - Prologue (still probably my favorite Renaissance tune)
    Renaissance - Ashes Are Burning

Fear of a Blank Planet is an interesting nomination. Many PT fans, myself included, consider that song to be the least intereesting song on the album - though I don't think the album has any bad track, or even any "just OK" track, it's all good.

As for the Deadwing album, which I am listening to right now, it would be a tussle between the title track and Lazarus.

Yeah, in all honesty there's at least one track on each of those PT albums (Every Home is Wired, Lazarus, and Anesthetize) that gave me pause prior to posting them. I can't say there's a track on Deadwing or FoaBP that I would ever for a fraction of a nanosecond think of skipping.

You like A Farewell to Kings more than Xanadu? Unbelievable!
