Today's 12/12/12 Hurricane Sandy Benefit concert @ MSG

Roger Waters, The Who, Sir Cute Beatle, Springsteen, The Rollimg Stones, Clapton and more. Broadcast live around the world on many tv and internet sites starting @ 7:30pm est. A Nirvana reunion of sorts with Macca fronting the band has been rumoured. Should be a ton of interesting pairings. I've heard this will last into the wee hours.

Thanks for the reminder. Just found it on the Bloomberg channel and set up the DVR.

    Regards,

For those who have premium channels, I'd recommend HBO in HD..
    without "commercial" breaks.
BTW, It begins at 7:30 EST tonight on a shitload of channels..
but many of them may pause for breaks, also HBO runs it 'til 12:35am.

Watching it on MSG cable. Good to see Bruuuuuce not only kick it off but get out of there early. Hoping Slowhand reunites with Waters; "Comfortably Numb" solo was awesome on the "Pros & Cons..." tour.

Watching this just confirms that I'll never be a Springsteen fan. Guy flat-out can't sing.

He does look really, really good, however, and his band is pretty solid.

Having seen the Quadrophenia tour many years ago, I passed, but I'm anxious to hear Daltrey post-surgically, since a lot of people are saying he's recovered not all, but a big chunk of the higher part of his range.

I suppose McCartney will get the final slot but I don't envy anyone following the Who.

The Rolling Stones are reported to have the closing slot.

    Roger Waters with Eddie Vedder!

Springsteen is freakin' awesome. Eddie Vedder gets around. He may have started out as part of the grunge movement, but over the years he's gained sort of an honorary 70s rocker status and gotten to rock out with Neil Young, The Who, Roger Waters and others. Go Eddie!

I actually hated Springsteen for YEARS until something finally clicked with me around 2001-2002. I've been digging his music ever since.

No, it wasn't. Who was the guy singing the dark side stuff? He was good! Like that guitarist, too, but am not connecting names with faces or voices tonight...

Isn't the guitarist with the engraved guitar Dave Kilminster?

Vedder sounds pretty damn good here, IMO.

Thanks! I was going to say how good he sounded, but no...it sounds like someone let a goat loose onstage

This sure beats that shit-assed version he did with Van Morrison when the wall came down.

Vedder earned my eternal respect with his awesome rendition of "Im One" with The Who from the Royal Albert Hall gig. I never saw Pearl Jam live until just this past summer at Music Midtown and I was pretty well floored.

It would be cool if he did something with Jerry Cantrell. He did an excellent version of "Brain Damaged/Eclipse"...ooops! Time I cut out. Not gonna watch Sandler and Schaeffer.

I was really hoping to see Clapton appear with Waters.

    Oh well.
