These New Puritans - new live album 'Expanded' with orchestra

I know there are a few folks on here who dig these cats, so here you go:

    http://www.thesenewpuritans.com/expanded/

    From the PR bits:

"EXPANDED (Live at the Barbican) is These New Puritans’ critically acclaimed 2013 album Field of Reeds played in its entirety, alongside old and brand new works, worked and re-worked. The band’s Jack Barnett has described EXPANDED as being as definitive as the studio album. The performance features a new live version of the band - headed by Jack and George Barnett, and Thomas Hein and featuring an expanded 35-piece band of brass, strings and percussion, alongside Portuguese singer Elisa Rodrigues and Synergy Vocals (Steve Reich, London Sinfonietta). The orchestral arrangements were written by Jack, and conducted by Edwin Outwater."

    Happy hunting!!

I was at this show. The Field Of Reeds stuff was out of this world.
    I'm in too.

I've already got Field of Reeds on vinyl, and it's damn near the most gorgeous LP package I've bought in the last decade or so. Kavus convinced me into checking them out again (I never quite warmed to some of the earlier things I'd heard), and by Brahman was it amazing!

    Thanks man,
I saw them at a festival a few of years before Field Of Reeds and did not enjoy them one bit.
As bad as it sounds, seeing this concert and those YouTube bits again, despite the lusher arrangements, served to remind me why I still can't get too excited about the pre-FOR stuff.

That aside, whatever massive change occurred has knocked me senseless. Field Of Reeds is one of the most remarkable albums I've heard in years. Just so good. I think everyone at the Barbican that night knew they were witnessing something really special. Watching it back here really confirms that.

This band is ridiculously good. Field Of Reeds is great but the first two are even better!!! Jack Barnett is a real talent.

^They've seem to got the 'impossible curve' kind of thing, in that they don't really know where to go next after the last couple of albums; more simple or more "advanced"? I guess they're from the post-Radiohead generation of decision making in pop/rock culture, so there's always that. But then again, so said critics of Sigur Rôs, and they made it thrugh (fairly) alright.

I like the new track but it isn't quite catching me as strongly as their last album did.
