Thanks for link. Lots of great insights (except i don't agree Heaven & Earth is awful). Favourite quote re: Magnification; "Nothing kills a career, though, like a terrific album that no one buys"
Why is it when anyone in the mainstream media admits they actually like a prog album, they first have to lead in with 7 paragraphs of jokes and insults? People even do it on this forum.
My favorite line in the article...
"When a Yes song doesn’t work, it takes its time not to work."
I think Brit.s in general are not "funny", but amusing; at least the one's I've had the pleasure of spending time with.
Refreshing to read a YES review ( and of course any review by someone who hasn't tried to or kept up with YES over these many years can't possibly not have some inaccuracies in it) where the reviewer doesn't make fun of the old sods who still go to the shows. You never see/read little sideline reviews making fun of all the old cronies who can barely walk who go to the symphony or opera, do you?, but my local reviewers just don't seem to like YES or older folks in black concert tees.
Thanks for posting/the link. Whatever you can say about the first paragraph, it's different. The only one who still takes things too seriously is the maestro, Mr. Steve Howe. How could they take things too seriously? They are Spinal Tap. ( another good film to check out that reminds me of YES ( and Pink Floyd) is Still Crazy with Billy Connolly- me thinks it's better than Spinal Tap.)
