Great, now we're going to have to put up with people quoting that crap all over the place like it's 1990 on Usenet again.

Still hard to believe Laura Palmer's father killed her.

Oh mercy, the memories of Aubrey and Donna:

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

    Two observations:

    1. Like a diner like that would have music like that on the jukebox.

    2. I visited Snoqualmie Falls, and I had coffee and pie at that diner for real. It was spectacularly lousy coffee. That's the inside joke, I think, about "damn fine coffee".

Further proof that Twin Peaks is really another dimension.

I would love to see the old series come back for a re-broadcast.

I have the soundtrack, which is pretty cool.

On a related note, I had my 17-year-old daughter check out Eraserhead online a year ago. She still hasn't recovered.

    Official video-

I rented a DVD and watched a show but couldn't get into it. Maybe its level of 'weird' is lower than my expectations after being exposed to all the Mott the Hoopla. I have seen the red room stuff with Mike Anderson. he was great. sorry, but I have to put the subject -related video here.

Lynch is directing every episode. I'm in!

We did some of the backwards stuff... instead of trying to work it out phonetically we just said the dialog, reversed it, learned to say that, recorded it and reversed it again. It's almost too good; it sounds like someone doing a very bad Dracula accent.

He also co-wrote them. I don't have Showtime, though.

    I love Lynch.

Seems like that gum isn't coming back in style. At least not yet.

Lynch doesn't like the budget he's been given and has apparently backed out of the project. I hope this is just a negotiating tactic on his part. If Twin Peaks is going to be rebooted, it has to have David Lynch writing/directing. Not just 'executive producer' or some such bullshit.

Oh crap! I agree with you, although I would add the Mark Frost was also a major contributor to the writing and the direction of the show as well. More than he gets credit for I think.

The weirdness for weirdness sake wore thin with me two-thirds of the way through the first season. Lynch can be a real kook.

I think he reached a kind of nadir with Wild at Heart, where the excessive stylization and robotic non-acting grew to self-parodic proportions.

I’d mention On the Air here (a sitcom minus the comedy) but that would be blatantly unfair, as even Lynch has dismissed that one.
