    Bands that had .....

Bands that had a killer 7th album that was no match for their 3rd or 4th but still better than the 2nd or 5th that start with the letter P or H.

Seriously..haven't we had enough of these type of threads??

I don't think there are too many bands that had 7th albums, let alone 7th albums that were decent and still worth listening to.

So I will inevitably have to answer:

Genesis (though I think PG was gone by the 7th album, so "PC ruined G" fans will disagree)
Yes (though fans of the golden years would disagree)
Porcupine Tree (because they are all awesome)
    Chicago

And I really don't know what any of their 7th albums were called, but I am just a fanboy for these bands.

    Now that's funny right there!

    Not really.

"Good evening, hello! That was a little medley from the early years of the band from '68-'69. Now we'd like to bring you up-to-date and play something a little more modern. See if you recognize this one from 1972!"

Popol Vuh's Letzte Tage Letzte Nachte was excellent but not as good as Hossiana Mantra but better than Einsjager & Siebenjager

That reminds me, I bought the Blu-Ray box of Werner Herzogs best films and can't wait to dig into that, especially for some of that great music by Popol Vuh!

Led Zeppelin - Presence. My favourite album of theirs!

Not sure it'd beat their 4th, 2nd or 5th if it went to a vote!

Now do you mean with the original classic lineups only?

Come on, you can do it, Chicago's seventh album is called VII.

You're right, most bands don't have a 7th album and most who do are on their way down. There are exceptions, at least in my book: PF, Tangerine Dream, and at least for that album Chicago! Genesis and Marillion were basically different bands by that time and I don't want to get into a PG/PC or Fish/H debate. Yes was in decline.

You beat me to it. I was going to come up with a "bands that had a better 10th album than 9th but not so good as their 7th" type theme.

But just a point of clarification, is it the album name or the band name that has to start with a P or H???????

Yeah...I'm gonna go with Pink Floyd. Obscured (ahem) By Clouds comes close to More & Ummagumma, but beats Saucerful & AHM. (Bands that start with P or H, right?)

I was going to start an Album Whose Last Song is the best thread; of course Floyd's Meddle tops that list, Yes' G4T1 at #2 on that list, but I didn't. Nor did I start an Albums You Love Even Though You Hate The First Song On It thread.
    Maybe that one we start...
