Too much prog-fusion, too little porn-funk for my taste. I would prefer something aesthetically closer to this:

Any time any one speaks to me about any musical project, the one absolute given is "it will not make big money". [tip of the hat to HK]
"Death to false 'support the scene' prog!"

Well, here's coming from a guy (me!) whose own band made their live debut in a radio studio, with the drummer - who was usually quite good - absolutely scared shitless of performing even the slightest roll on a tam, and then going for beers at my place later on and being played The Muffins' Open City with me insisting that "[...] this dude's name is Paul Sears and listen to what he does here, will'ya?" Utter silence occuring, donning long face and a lame look in eye.
Band didn't last long.

I never saw Paul 'scared' to perform. He was pretty ferocious in those days.
It's his birthday, today, btw AND the 38th anniversary of his live debut with the Muffins, which took place at American University on October 2, 1976!
Happy Birthday AND happy anniversary, Paul!
lots of love!

Good friends of mine. But they are a current act, so not really belonging to that other bunch. Pappzi's main influences are, AFAIK, Zamla/Hollmer, Hatfield/Health, Krimso, HtMan and further RIO-type of stuff like allthings Momo Rossell, HCow (and some Frith solo), mid-80s UZero, Miriodor, some Birdsongs, allthings Kerman/Drake et al.
