Not sure where you got this information. I had coffee with Steve this morning. He had no idea he was announced for this. He told me he is NOT part of the third Cruise To The Edge. Taking a year off.

Wow. Three for three of awesome bands at RIO! I could never tire of seeing Present. After going in 2013, I wondered if I would ever be able to go back. If this line-up continues to amaze, I might have to ask myself, how can I not go back?

Plasmatopia: Maybe a song in D minor that has never been played?

bob_32_116: That would be a terrific triple bill: Cyan, Magenta and Yello.

Ukandanz are an edgy bouncy French Ethiopian band featuring the drummer from PoiL and other connections to the young French scene. The vocalist is Ethiopian. Very very good signing, their album is excellent.

This is an example of the problem I have with labels. Do I like most RIO? Not very much at all. Do I dance? Not very much. Would I dance to this band? Probably until I collapsed. SO impressed.

Ethiopian pop fans (waves hand wildly) recognizes that song as one of Mahamoud Ahmed's.

    Here's the original

and, interestingly, here's a recent live show (40 years later) that has some of the energy and punkiness of the Ukandanz version! Which I wasn't expecting.

RoSfest has been known for its afterhours parties also known as the hootenannies. This year we bring you Chicago’s premier ELP tribute band Fanfare as they will be performing a two hour set starting at 11:30 on Friday night at the afterhours party in the banquet room of the RoSfest host hotel The Aspire.

On Saturday night May 3rd Chicago’s Might Could which is known for their tight instrumental music and interlocking guitar parts will be performing a one hour set on Saturday night followed by the hootenanny with RoSfest performing artists and patrons playing whatever they feel like playing. That’s what makes these parties fun!
