Hi
Cactus Choir by Dave Greenslade comes out on CD on the 3rd November 2014 on the Angelair label. It has a bonus track "Gangsters" I think it is the Vocal versions with Chris Farlowe.
I was hoping it would be Rubber Face Lonely eyes.

Great! Been waiting for this decades ago.
Finally!!!!
It’s about time! I like this one better than Time & Tide.
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883...
I would agree; T&T is a very uneven record - "Catalan", "Ass' Ears", "Gangsters" and "Doldrums" (my fav 'slade track), but that's about it. Cactus Choir is more consistant in approach and has overall better melodic material. I've got the vinyl though, so I don't need no CD of this.

"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
How does it compare with The Pentateuch of the Cosmogony?
I love everything on Time & Tide, except Gangsters, which I can listen to, but it sounds like a trivial TV bumper advert.
Cactus Choir I had on cassete, and the title theme is the best there, in my opinion.
I too think "Cactus Choir" is a bit better than "Time and Tide."

Nice. Been looking for this one
Beware, it's a needle drop. How disappointing.
Yes too late i bought it. WTF!!!!
So pissed off.
When I saw that it was on Angelair, I immediately thought it was taken from vinyl. The only Angelair release I have is the Carmen 2CD set ("Fandangos in Space" and "Dancing on a Cold Wind"), and the second disc has lots of pops and ticks, IIRC. Good thing I also have the Line Records 2CD release. I only bought the Angelair version because the Line version abbreviates the first song on disc one.
If the mastering is good, I'd take a needledrop anyday over a crap Angelair compressed-to-hell mastering from tapes.
First side is pressed off centre too (sigh).
^If your ears are pitch-attuned- and mine are- that's more or less unlistenable, then.
I don't have much interest in this one but I'm sorry for those who do. When will this 'that'll do' attitude stop?
Yep ! A lot of those Warners pressings from the era suffered from this shoddy manufacture...... put it this way, I knew within seconds of hearing the first track that it had been taken from skanky old off centre vinyl. Maybe the master tapes are lost altogether...or maybe as you say, it's more a case of "that'll do". The bonus track, the `Gangsters' single, is discracefully bad quality and also very obviously from a battered old 45.
Is the 'Gangsters' single different from the one on 'Time and Tide'? I also thought that single was on a different label than Warner Bros. Interesting.
`Gangsters' was released on BBC records in support of the second TV series in 1978 IIRC, the vocal version with Chris Farlowe that is....which is what you get here.
Cd arrived yesterday, plenty of pops, clicks and hum! Sent it back! I have a boot cd from a few years ago that sounds much cleaner! What a disappointment!
I'm still pissed!
