    I'm sober right now.

That's for contemplating the wonder of having CC on vinyl and thus abstaining from all the disappointment. Cheers!

I got the cd finally. Really cool album although it sounds like the cd might have been taken from vynil. I can hear some crackling sound every now and then

Does the Japanese cd have snaps, crackles and pops?

No, I didn't noticed that..I should relisten though, keeping in mind that crackles problem.

Is the Angel Air-version the same as the Edsel-version? The latter is taken from vinyl too.

I have some Angel Air-CD's that are nice, not great. Fusion: Till I Hear From You (the first band Nik Kershaw was in)
Allen, David Clark: Widescreen / Carmen: The Gypsies
Husband, Gary: The Complete Diary Of A Plastic Box
RMS: Live At The Montreux Jazz Festival 1983 (DVD)
    Warman, Johnny: Walking Into Mirrors
Warren, James: Burning Questions (with Nick Magnus)

It’s been released again in Japan as an SHM-CD. 2023 release on Belle Antique.
Wondering if it’s another needle drop!

I don't have the 2023 release, but I have the 2014 Japanese SHM-CD on Belle and it's source is definitely LP, although very clean, you almost don't hear any background noise, even with headphones. A great album!

Belle Antique re-released the first Automatic Man-album on CD some years ago, using the same version as the needle jump-back version on Lemon Recordings (Cherry Red), so it's not automatically a good one.

Yes, I have bought numerous copies of this, afraid to bite the bullet for another (at least) $40 investment.
Oddly enough, I bought a copy many years ago on eBay, I think it came from somewhere in the USSR,
sketchy origin, but the sound was pretty good, zero pops and clicks!

No problems with the Angel Air. I also have a Greenslade live on Angel Air.
