Bolus is a good, young band from Vaughan, Ontario. Check them out!

Good pick but if you like them you should try Pollen

Visions of Dune? Great stuff. You'll also want Bernard Szajner's solo record Some Deaths Take Forever, which is essentially a continuation of Zed and features both Blasquiz and Paganotti.

The Greg Walker catalog description would be "Mostly instrumental keyboard-led prog with French vocals"

LOL, I think I sold my copy of the first Sloche to Greg, years ago...

I'm another one who will recommend LE TEMPS "Ailleurs avec…" album. A folkier and less progressive version of HARMONIUM that works wonders if you are after that special french pastoral feel encountered in bands like TANGERINE, ILOUS & DECUYPER, BOULE DE SON and CANO.

You know, no matter how one can feel about Greg's selling of "iffy-origined" albums on his site, he's got some of the best one-line description for a band's oeuvre.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Nice. What year is that Szajner album. Paganotti is a gun.

Excuse me if this was covered in the extensive liner notes and I never read them, but where are these guys today? No way to have a reunion show of sorts? In fact, is there no way that ProgQuebec might want to reunite as many of their artists to put on a one-day festival? (Come on Sean.. you know you're Jonesing to jump back into the fray...)

I have a vague memory that Sloche were on Walker's FarFest lineup. But I could be wrong. Anyone remember?

Ah! I was confusing Sloche with Shylock. Hey, I got the first letter right!

Sloche would be a fantastic addition to any festival, if they were up for doing it!

My belief is these guys are not involved in music in any way, like a lot of these Quebecois proggers of the 70s.

It followed more or less directly on the Zed album (which was recorded in 1978, IIRC), meaning autumn 1980. The music contained therein was intended for the original Zed lineup, which had dissolved by the time of recording.

True, only that the Paga stuff - albeit good for sure! - never really held a candle to that monster Weidorje album.

It's been a few years since I was up on the details, but I am fairly certain there will be no Sloche reunion.

But if you get all the songs together which were meant to be on the 2nd album I reckon the 2nd album would have been better than debut. I love Mitchinoku and the 3 Urantia tracks

I figure there'd have been a serious attempt made at getting them to play here if there'd been a chance. Possibly opening for an international band Steve has promoted in recent years...

I'd still be curious about a one-day event featuring solely those artists on your label that can and would play live.
