Love this. And finally figured out that the bass riff is "Dont Eat the Yellow Snow."
I have never seen this video. How fun!
"The mountains are calling and I must go" - John Muir
"To breathe the same air as the angels, you must go to Tahoe" - Mark Twain
With two weeks left til Christmas, I guess today's gift is "A Bass Riff in 7/4 time" However, my true love probably wouldn't know 7/4 from 4/4
5 MELLOTRONS !!!!
That is fantastic! Thank you for sharing.
that was pretty good. What band is doing that? Very cute video too.
The Snow Goose Camel .jpgYes-Tales_From_Topographic_Oceans.jpg On the second day of Progmas, my true love gave to me, two concept albums!
How incredibly inventive this is! It's perfect. Happy Progmas! Happy holograms, season's chordings!
"You can't get a hangover from booze. It's either bad ice, or stale potato chips." --Jackie Gleason
Loved this! I was hoping for a new one this year but that woulsd be 3 on the trot so maybe I'm being greedy!
What if the Hokey Cokey really IS what it's all about?
They say in their facebook page that one of the musicians has hurt a hand, so Progmas is cancelled this year - but they've working on their 'proper' album (which will hopefully be as good as some of the things going on in that fab spoof)

On the third day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - three pretentious lyrics:
"Dawn of our power we amuse redescending as fast as misused"
"O Lamia, your flesh that remains I will take as my food"
"Dance into the meat grinder, ethnic cleansing sharp reminder"

No ladies dancing. HEY! LOL
The downside of being better than everyone else is that people tend to assume you're pretentious.
5 Mellotrons.jpg
On the fifth day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - Five Mellotrons!
On the sixth day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - Six Spacey Hammond Solos!
(Sorry, I was away from my computer on Sunday)
On the seventh day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - Seven Weird Key Changes!
This has been posted before, and it's a classic!
On the eighth day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - Eight Classical Ripoffs!
On the ninth day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - No Ladies Dancing!
On the tenth day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - Ten Keyboard Lead Runs (see Wakeman, Emerson, Banks, Rudess, et al)
On the eleventh day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - Eleven Roger Dean Sleeves! 11 RD Sleeves.jpg (Click Image to see larger)
On the 12th day of Progmas, my true love gave to me - 12 structural, contrapuntal and harmonic complexities of the kind you don’t hear in most modern pop/rock, because that stuff is just directed at the lowest common denominator, whereas prog aims higher and dares to challenge the listener in ways that mainstream music rarely, if ever, manages to. (Whew!)
