Chepstow School is new venue for Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September

We are pleased to announce that we will be switching venues for the Saturday and Sunday of Summer’s End 2014, which will now be held at Chepstow School, Welsh Street, Chepstow. This is due primarily to the needs of our catering team, who will need the use of a larger kitchen than is available at The Palmer Centre. The Friday night (26th )will still take place at The Palmer Centre as previously announced.

However, the new venue has a large foyer area, meaning we can – for the first time – run a second stage for acoustic acts during the two long breaks, so we will be showcasing more music than ever before. We will shortly be announcing the line-up of the first ever Summer’s End acoustic stage.
With the added benefit of a larger main stage and auditorium, easy access to the stage area and ample parking, the school provides an excellent base for the festival. The venue was not available for the Friday, which would have helped logistically, but splitting the festival over two venues will allow us to gain first- hand experience of running shows in each to help us choose next year!

For those that want to get out and about during the breaks, the school is less than ten minutes walk from Chepstow town centre and, on the Saturday, you may even see one or two Summer’s End performers lurking on street corners and entertaining the citizens of Chepstow as we get involved with Chepstow Town Festival.

Tickets

We have decided not to issue printed tickets at all this year. On arrival at the Festival please present your paypal receipt and your wristband will be issued. If you no longer have your paypal receipt or would like to pay by another method, please contact stephen@summersend.co.uk . Door times are 6.30pm on Friday, 12 noon on Saturday and Sunday. Stage times will be issued in a couple of weeks.

The Festival Ferry

We will be organising the traditional ‘festival ferry’ shuttle service to and from the venue and Parkend (Whitemead and village) with the potential to pick up along the A48 (Aylburton, Alvington, the National Diving Centre etc). Demand will dictate the cost and size of vehicle required, so please email stephen@summersend.co.uk ASAP if you are interested, stating how many places you want. We’ll then email you back with details in a week or so with details and cost.

Hero gift 2013 – that long-awaited Calendar

We are very aware that due to circumstances beyond our control, we missed the deadline to produce the Summer’s End calendars that we promised to our 2013 heroes. These will be produced for 2015, with additional copies being made for purchase.

Hero Gift 2014

Lambsie is finalising details of this right now and we will announce it in a few days. Heroes will receive it automatically, but everyone else will be offered the opportunity to obtain it as part of an “upgrade” offer.
