I listened to most of Empros and Memorial today on YT, both for the first time. I like them more than any of the first 3 albums.
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off
Similar bands: Red Sparowes (here are a few full albums on YT)
Isis (if you like a more aggressive approach):
And of course, the masterpiece of them all, Magyar Posse - "Random Avenger"
Infrequently mentioned, but pretty damned awesome (albeit a bit more "comedy" than Russian Circles):
The Kickass - Death Metal is for Pussies

Can't find too many vids online but the Amazon link goes to the mp3 page with samples. Anyhoo...an instrumental metal/rock/whatever album with song titles like "So...You Want to Have a Led Zeppelin Riff Battle Huh? Let's Do It" and this artwork:
Well, it deserves mention ;-)
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com

Pelican is the only band in this genre that has clicked with me. Russian Circles, Red Sparrowes, Isis, etc. didn't grab me.
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...
Pelican and Russian Circles are the two I like. Giant Squid and Long Distance Calling and are decent as well. Battles is listed as Post-Rock but they're a bit more avant garde IMO. "Gloss Drop" is great.

Here's a recent discovery - may stir some interest from some of you:
^Pretty cool stuff!

You guys sold me. I'll check Russian Circles out.
Thanks
For those who dig Russian Circles, I'd suggest the following albums:
Long Distance Calling - Avoid the Light
Shelter Red - Strike a Mortal Terror
East of the Wall - Farmer's Almanac
