    A Yes/Spirit connection?

Upon learning of Spirit's great drummer passing earlier this week, I started reading up a bit on Spirit history. I found this blurb from Wikipedia about Spirit/Heart/Firefall bassist Mark Andes:

During the early 1980s, Andes also collaborated briefly with future Yes guitarist Trevor Rabin and future Quiet Riot drummer Frank Banali.

Anyone know anything about this? Did this collaboration result in anything?

I don't, but here's another connection: During the 80s Steve Howe and Randy California were both on the IRS Records "Night of the Guitar" tour.

Rabin, Andes and Banali recorded Rabin's demos that formed the basis of 90125. Some of these can be heard on the archival release 90124, which would be good if it hadn't been so royally fucked up by Voiceprint.

Would you care to elaborate on that, Henry? What is wrong with 90124?

The printing of the liner notes was screwed up, so sections of text are missing - Voiceprint knew this and didn't bother to do anything about. The liner notes (even were they complete and understandable) then refer to a different track list than is on the album. So you've got this album that's of largely historical interest, but you end up not knowing enough about it to be able to make much sense of what's on the CD.

Thanks, Henry. It's been a long time since I listened to 90124, and I don't remember anything about that. I guess I'll just have to go back to my old fan-traded tapes of the music to identify what is really there. ;-) I do remember the CD having some stuff that wasn't on my tapes, but maybe it really doesn't after all!
