He was also on one episode of a terrible series called L.A. Doctors (1998/99). Awful show, but he played a guy with elephant man's disease IIRC. He brought me to tears in that role. It's the only thing I remember about that show.
Williams was one of those rare truly unique comedians. When he first burst on the scene with the Mork character there was nobody like him. His early standup stuff was manic and hilarious, and he continued to maintain a solid career ever since for the most part.
On the other hand often when he was interviewed he often came across as a person who was inwardly unhappy. It is not surprising to me that he battled depression. I read a book a few years ago called “The Tragic Clowns” about comedians who have died young either through self-destruction or in some cases suicide. Comedy seems to attract a lot of these people.
Anyway, it is a sad day for comedy.

He was a comedic genius. I've never seen anyone do purely improvisational comedy like he did and be so good at it. His Tonight Show appearances were amazing. He'd walk out there and riff for 10 minutes on something silly like the color of Johnny Carson's tie or some such, and it was gasp-for-breath funny.

Struggling with depression. You never know what a person could be going through. There was a guy who "seemed" to be one of the happiest guys alive ever with his sense of humor. Sad to hear this. He was an extremely talented, bright and clever person.
It was pretty well known for years that Robin struggled with severe depression. People who have clinical depression often become good at faking happiness or even using something like comedy to deflect attention from it. Very sad.
I was not aware he suffered from depression, so this is a big shock to me. RIP
On May 10, 2014, it was announced that CBS had cancelled The Crazy Ones after one season. I think this had a lot to do with his suicide, if in fact it was suicide. Anyway this is horrible. The Crazy Ones showed that he still had it. The mainstream maybe couldn't handle it. RIP, a comedian, actor, genius whose shoes will never be filled.
He's been fighting his demons for some time---drugs and alcohol---recently checked himself back into rehab in July---he suffered a heart attack and open heart surgery a few years back--experts say heart disease and the drugs you are on could have made the depression worse---in any case --heartbreaking news RIP.
One of the true talents of our time is gone. RIP and thanks for both your comedic genius and your superb acting.

I'm shocked and sad. The guy was a mega-talent; great actor and one of (if not the) funniest improv comedians ever. Damn...
hard to believe he got his start in porn - check out "If you don't stop it you'll go blind" and the sequel "Can I do it 'til I need glasses?"
One of my very favorites. Very sad. His last series was pretty good, The Crazy Ones, and CBS killed that, and subsequently him.
RIP Mork. You gave me a lifetime of laughter.
