I like Barleywine Ale when in the mood for high ABV.

Thanks, I actually don't mind the hops but was just wondering. I usually do end up going for a strong IPA.

Well, after a day from hell trying to get from Charlotte to Durham, I finally got here on a very expensive Greyhound ticket, but I AM here and already hobnobbed with a bunch of the regulars, so I am happy now. Looking forward to some great music and more great company this weekend!

Good first day, way too hot, lots of friends to meet.

Zombie Frogs - fun heavy instrumental fusion
Kotebel - excellent set based around piano, instrumental prog
Galactic Cowboy Orchestra - not really my thing, instrumental and vocal lots of different styles
Sensations Fix - Italian psyche with heavy Ashra feel, excellent

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

^^ Ashra is exactly what Sensations Fix reminded me of too. There were certain aspects of GCO I wasn't crazy about, but they achieved a Mahavishnu Orchestra sort of state fairly often, which made them worthwhile for me.

Kitobel was more straight ahead symphonic prog than I was expecting, which was fine by me.

Zombie Frogs were heavy and fun. Good wake up call.

Kotebel were amazing. Nice mix of classical and rock music.

Galactic Cowboy Orchestra were fun and a great show to watch. Lots of variety. My favorite so far, but not by much.

Sensations' Fix were a very relaxing way to end the day. Very, very good.

I was looking forward to Sensation's Fix but could not make it at last minute. Any of their recordings worth checking out? or are they better taking an acid hit (no never did) and sitting back and letting them just flow through you?

Backhand - Competent AOR Prog from Venezuala with a Canadian singer, pretty fun.
Necromonkey - Sounded a lot more like Gösta Berlings Saga that their records. Monstrously good, the hit of the festival
Travis Larson - Tight fusion trio, good set
Alex Carpani with David Jackson - own material was good. Fantastic covers of VDGG with Jackson killing it and very funny. Could have done without the drum bass and vocal solos in the encore but finished splendidly

Excellent weekend with loads of friends old and new
