Philly tix went to MarblesMike. Pair of tix to NYC show still available.
I have two tickets to the Philly and NYC shows that I won't be able to use. The tix for the Philly show are mid-section right, row M seats 22 and 24. Tix for NYC are GA. I will sell them at face...
Why, then, are you bothering with this thread?
The more I listen, the less meandering the tunes are. I'm loving every minute of it!
Spot on!
I'm really enjoying IoK.

Really enjoying Courting the Squall. Seems a bit more consistently appealing to me than any of the Elbow releases, except for maybe Take Off... which I thought was great.
THIS: "That said, I've never heard a single full album that blew me away...it's always a handful of tracks on each that really win me over, while the remainder kind of leave me neutral."
Amen
My favorite PG album by far! Desert island stuff.
I have a 10th row ticket to the Hackett show at the Lincoln Theater on Friday, November 13 that I need to unload. Row J Seat 103. Asking face value - $75. PM me if you are interested. Thanks. ...
Concerto is excellent.
Anathema - We're Here Because We're Here
I don't hear any "neo" in H-era Marillion.
What he said. The Traveler indeed goes for $1500, and you could pick up a Denon DL-103R moving coil cartridge, which sounds amazing and is one of the best values in all of stereo equipment, for...
For those of you who, like me, enjoy the tasty sounds of the Fender Rhodes, Marc Cary's Rhodes Ahead Volume 2, which was just released, is well worth checking out. Here's a little gem:

Though I am a MUCH bigger H-era than Fish-era Marillion fan, I think this is sage advice. You are in for a real treat. I discovered them about 10 years ago, and they quickly became my favorite band.
Unfortunately, I'm a little disappointed that it hasn't really grown on me despite several listens. I love Satellites, the opening cut, but I can take or leave the rest of it. <<shrugs>>
Just returned home from the DC show, which was, in a word, spectacular. Next up for me: June 17 in Seattle.
Awful record that absolutely suffered from a lack of Steven Wilson's direction.
I had never heard of them before yesterday, when I stumbled on the article and album on the NPR site. The first cut, Satellites, pulled me right in, and prompted me to preorder the vinyl edition. ...
Question for the Kenso cognoscenti: I have and enjoy Yume No Oka. What should I get next?
NB: I had either Kenso 1 or 2 and it didn't thrill me. Thanks.

Amen Brothers BobM and Rael. It's a shame that he insists on ruining the discussion for so many of us and that the moderators don't seem interested at all in addressing the problem.
Not possible.
I buy 6 copies of every record I own so that I don't have to worry about degradation, which is a terrible problem.
And, assuming you are correct about his intentions (a big assumption), that makes his rant ok? Erm.... No.
"Get off the internet" - amen to that.
The guy broadcasts an incredibly insensitive and narcissistic message, doubles down (with threats no less!) when his followers call him out, and later, when the dust settles, still refuses to...
And in other news... The sun is hot, and the sea is wet.
The fact that rcarlberg cannot afford something does not render it snake oil or a waste of money.
Oh, and it's also not true that he who posts the most wins.
I finally got around to picking up Heaven and Earth. Impression after first listen? It's dreadful.
Shame on me, I guess, for expecting better, but I really enjoyed FFH.
Beck - Morning Phase
Elbow - The Take Off and Landing of Everything
Promise?
I like this album. I absolutely love the cuts from this album on A Live Record, which I reach for more often.
Masterpieces - both Parts. I haven't been this excited about a band since being introduced to Marillion 10 years ago when I first heard Marbles. The melodies, arrangements and execution are...
Saw them two nights ago here in DC. As always, great show - well worth the ticket price. Didn't check out the merch table.
I love this record.
I just picked this up on vinyl. It's my first taste of The Enid, and I'm smitten with it. Glorious stuff, and the recording is impeccable. Side 1 is on nonstop repeat.
Great album! I love it, along with their debut and Dig Out Your Soul.
One of my favorite Miles records is Dave Douglas's The Infinite. ;-) Highly recommended for fans of Miles early electric period.

I just received the CD Island of the Misfit Toys as a present. It's very well crafted, dark, and progressive. The vibe - not so much the music - reminds me a little of Porcupine Tree and Pineapple...
There are a few in Islington but on the whole record stores are London aren't at all special. I was hugely disappointed - we have many more, and much better, stores here in DC.
Unlistenable.
He was banned from PE?! Halle-fucking-lujah! That, unfortunately, took way too long to happen.
Killer tune from Wynton's debut:

Saw the show a couple of nights ago at the Lincoln Theater here DC. It was a real treat! I was on the fence about going - I'm so happy I decided to go. The house was packed, and the band were...
Listened to this a few times last night and loved it! Tonight I am going to check out Citi Movement, which I've heard is excellent.
Great record! I forgot to mention that one. His version of Caravan is smoking hot!
Vigil
IIRC, Rockaway in Silver Lake has some amazing titles. I saw several rather obscure prog records there that I hadn't previously seen at a bricks and mortar shop. The problem was that their prices...
I've been on a huge Wynton Marsalis binge. Because of his many ridiculous (IMNSO) statements about what jazz is and should be, and his commentary about things like Miles Davis's clothes, I wanted so...
Should have been a double!!
The only two I have owned are A Curious Feeling and his last classical release. I'm not sure which is worse; they are both dreadful. Too bad, because like another one said, I really wanted to...
The only release I have is CSN from 1977 - the one with the photograph of the three of them on a sailboat. It's exquisite from start to finish.
...
I've been meaning to check these guys out. What's the best release to start with?
:up
He's such a charming, witty and articulate interviewee. I could listen to him talk (and, of course sing) all day.
Indeed, not much new, though I hadn't heard him previously single out...
