Trip Lava
The Cocteau Twins. I love Liz Fraisers singing on the albums. But she sings completely different on stage, and not in a good way.
My Bloody Valentine
Great guitarist, no cause of death yet. He was 77.
I recently read that Kate collaborated with a rapper by the name of Big Boi. He's coming out with new music that might feature Kate on one the tracks. I'm not much of a hip-hop fan, but I'll still...
Yes, happy b-day to Kate. I hope she is working on some new music.

Do you still have that photo of you and Kate??? Could you upload it?
I just received "Double Time". The cd has great music (I've listened to "Sample and Hold" many times) However, the "Bruford and the Beat" dvd was a HUGE disappointment!!! The audio has hiss, and the...
I recently found a vinyl copy of "Attic Thoughts" by Bo Hansson, and the cover art blew me away! The artist is Jan Ternald.
Thanks you for posting this!
Would you consider this to be avant prog? https://triplava.bandcamp.com/album/ounds
This isn't the first time you've complained about Bruford. Why do you dislike him so much?
I know this might be a longshot, but I'm trying to identify a band/song from maybe 1990/1991. The song has lyrics that go "Ya know, I was laying in my bed the other day, and a big fat nurse came in,...
Pour Some Sugar on Me- Def Leppard.
Sort of reminds me of Thom Pace.
I guess no one is going to reply to this post, so I will. Thank you Lindsay Kemp for inspiring David Bowie and Kate Bush. You will be remembered.
Just logged in, looks like everything is back to normal.
Thank you Udi for introducing me to Me El-ma, love this stuff.
I've updated the Trip Lava bandcamp pages for both "Oddball in the Corner Pocket" and "Octatroid". Both album profiles have a link for CD purchases. https://triplava.bandcamp.com/
Trip Lava (space/kraut/avant instrumental) 2 albums, name your price! https://triplava.bandcamp.com/
I listen to this stuff at work, and I like a lot of the more heavy reverb grocery store muzak type of vibe they have sometimes. Relaxing but twisted. Also "Floral Shoppe 2" by the Darkest Future is...
Check out "Octatroid vs Gurgblah" by Trip Lava. It's up on You Tube.
The drummer for Twin Cities 80's punk band Husker Du has died. He was 56.
Is anyone else having trouble viewing the 2 Trip Lava videos I posted?? I followed the [video] code for posting a video from You Tube. I can see both videos just fine! What am I doing wrong???
That's strange! They worked fine when I played them.

Thank you auxfnx for the Hiatus Kaiyote link. Never heard of them, but I love what I hear and want to check out more of this music.
This album will always be a top 5 all time favorite for me. I've been listening to it since 1992 and I'm still not sick of it. It has aged very well compared to other albums from that genre.
I just checked out "John Somebody" by Scott Johnson. My mind was not blown. I found this track to be irritating as hell.
Try a Google image search for Aha (band). Scroll down and you should see a photo which features a acoustic guitar and the band. Otherwise I give up, these puzzles drive me nuts.
Was it Aha?
I have a cd called Guitar Solos (1991) that is excellent.
Bob Mould and Grant Hart of Husker Du.
How about "Wuthering Heights" by Kate Bush?
The song that popped into my head was "Frankenstein" by the Edgar Winter Group. Not sure which synth it is.
This Heat
The guy just KILLED HIMSELF, show some respect!! RIP
Tori Amos
He's no Buddy Rich.
I remember the thrash metal band Anthrax went through this B.S post 911. They made it through ok, ISIS (the band) will be ok as well.
Someone who is considered an influence. In rock drumming, Carl Palmer is not in the same group as John Bonham, Bill Bruford, Neil Peart, Billy Cobham, Stewart Copeland. He's a good drummer, like...

I assume you are home now and figured out the track. I pulled out my cd copy of Dig? and found the songs "Stromboli Kicks" and "Libreville" were close to sounding like "Teakbois" Was I correct?

Yes, it's the same guy. His book covers not only algorithmic composition, but electroacoustic, minimalism, atonality and serialism, texturalism etc.. all kinds of stuff. It's great for moments when I...
Does anybody here have this? I have the 7th edition, a mind-expanding book.
I have the sixth edition (1988) right in front of me. Great book!
anybody into this kind of music?

Not prog but- "Reach the Beach" the Fixx and "Loveless" My Bloody Valentine
One that bothers me is "A Venture" by Yes.
Thanks for posting Paul Doldens music. I've never heard of him, but now after listening to this you tube vid I have to check out more of his stuff.
My Bloody Valentine -M.B.V (22 years) Not prog, but definitely progressive rock.

My problem with Annette is her performance on Bruford-Rock goes to College. She starts singing, then she wipes something off her lips (after touching the microphone) with shaking fingers. She screws...
