I will buy whatever Gentle Giant put out until I die, in any format or shape. It's my way to tell them, THANKS!

To me Gazeuse! is the best Holdsworth. Any chance of a remix SWT ? I fear not….
Sure, it’s a personal opinion , I’m glad somebody else finds it relevant (the album, not my opinion).
Unnecessary album, musically insipid, unimaginative as was the previous one, it will be forgotten by Xmas.
Well, to me you are one of the very few MEGA IMPORTANT engineers ever, due to this and some other albums. So, for what is worth, my appreciation is TOTAL
Weather Report- I Sing The Body Electric
Bruford - One of a kind
Gong - Gazeuse!
Yes - Going for the One
Elton John - Blue Moves
Joni Mitchell - Hejira
King Crimson - Discipline/ Beat...
Strangely, I LOVE C/C, a lot, it's right below "In Absentia" (of course the best PT album, by far).....what a wonderful world :-)
Went through THC three times, definitely not for my taste, as it was for TFB. I guess I fall into the "lost-fans" list :-) , but I'll always be a fan anyway, he has the best ears around, love his...
to me, these two tracks are only an excercise of production/post production, there’s not a “story”, a song, there’s no drama or engagement.
Compared to the last 30 years records they've put out, I think it's a masterpiece.
In my world, there is ONLY ONE record where electronic drums (played by humans) said 'something' in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE MUSIC, and its Earthworks first album. All the rest is boredom.
huge loss of a “friend” I’ve never met, but always loved
The best of the best, a true giant. Luckily there's a lot we (and who will follow) can enjoy for centuries....
Peter Gabriel - 1980, Palasport Torino (Turin, Italy)
The Stranglers - 1980, Rainbow theatre (London, UK)
ok, my take after three starttofinish runs is: it’s a great record, their best after In Absentia, way better than FOABP, IMHO. Choruses are back, finally ! :-)
I think this new album will be really nice.....
I really like Duncan Browne albums, "Streets of fire" in particular. It's a shame he's no longer with us, I'm sure he'd do even better albums.

I like the cover, but definitely not the music.
I like the song very, very much.
It's SW
And Then There Were Three....
compared to the new one Union is a masterpiece that will be remembered in a thousand years....
one of the most boring record I've ever heard.
I'm 58, discovered them in 1976 and don't like ANYTHING after ATTWT (which was already, in part, a disappointment), I'm afraid, Duke included.
well, since we are talking prog…GENESIS for most of their career…
best autobiography I ever read, by far.
Genesis "Wind and Wuthering" or Yes "Going for the One"
Totally agree, I don't care if it's prog, metal, yodel or opera; this is, IMHO, simply a lame record with no ideas.
had great difficulty to even come to the end of each track, pretty sure I’ll never listen to it anymore.
I was going to say "Discipline" too, but I now remember that I had an epiphany before with Robert Fripp "Exposure" (and I'm not a fan of the 70s KC at all...)
still have my vinyl 45 RPM version...nice tune.
fully respect his will to do different things, having said that I dislike every single note of the tracks appeared so far, even by POP standards.
my question is the following: as a curiosity, we know that after breakup you all moved to different lives and that there won't be any reunion etc....but, during the last 40 years was there at least a...
I saw The Stranglers at The Rainbow in July 8th, 1980, "The Raven" tour, me a very young boy on a study-holiday (didn't open a book), loved them since then, a concert I will never forget.
how his appreciation for Gentle Giant started
I read it and I think it's one of the most boring autobiography I've ever read, really.
"I Sing the Body Electric" Side 1 and then going out with them in Tokyo for Side 2. My top musical dream has always been to "reside" in Wayne Shorter mind for a day.
Eric Kamau Gravatt - Weather Report "I Sing The Body Electric"
Bill Bruford - "On of a kind"
Bill Bruford on King Crimson "Discipline"
Bill Bruford on the first "Earthworks" album
Gavin Harrison...
This is the way I see the whole thing. The other day I bought a new car for roughly €35k, a nice car that will stay with me AT BEST for 10 years. Will I enjoy it ? Probably yes. Will I love her ?...
Same here, the day I'll see Gazeuse! remastered/remixed I'll cry....
to me it's the weakest work from PG, ever. Uninspired at best...IMHO
Bill Bruford ! (joking)
f@@@k, I almost remember the day I bought that Ciao 2001 issue.....38 years, no way ! :-)
As for some other members, I never listen to it. It did (and still does) northing to me.
yes...
no Dave Stewart....
Yes, I know all of this, but I can't hear Sonia Kristina in the track...at all.
Downloaded from Apple Music, it's a compilation and "The Fish" is under the artist...Sonia Kristina ?
I think nobody here is commenting DS on everything he has done, exactly the contrary, most people LOVE all the groups you mention AND Stewart & Gaskin. The comments are only for the "latest" duo...
Time has stopped in the '80s for the duo, songs and sounds are a photocopy of the old ones and this new one is even more "no-news", IMHO. I've always hoped to hear DS make some wild things again, as...
So true.
Wayne Shorter is my personal God, he transcends music/art/philosophy. As soon as I had the fortune to listen to "I Sing The Body Electric" as very young boy I entered his world and never desired to...
Quite the opposite here.
Who is the director ? Hope it's not what I suspect....
For me it's a "meh...", unimpressed.
it counts...:-) Thanks
My hope is to hear a smoking "Running of Three" live version...
Just received the latest live output of "these guys"...incredible, incredible playing; way, way better than the previous "But wait..." (IMHO), the best BX live ever.
I read about sloppy...
I frequently plays this, I like it a lot for whatever reason...
