I would hope so. They have had success filling good size venues in London over the last 9 year or so. The announced tour dates in the UK couldn't be worse for me, I'm out of the country for the whole...
Just seen an email regarding a 3 night residency for The Eagles with Steely Dan as support in Manchester UK. Not that close to me but still tempting.
Lazuli - Summer's End
Moon Safari - Winter's End
The band had hoped they would been available last Friday at the London Christmas Bash, but they weren't.
Exactly, maybe a Malbec...
It was worth the watch, a big chunk is concert footage from the 2010 lineup playing the whole of the first album (minus Mental Medication).
Me too. Still hoping to hear the current lineup tackle The Pirates Dream.
Trapeze "Medusa" always scratches an itch for me. Was lucky to see the trio (supporting Uriah Heep) in 1971. One of the best concerts I've ever attended.
The title track showed up on the BBC "Transmission" recordings too.
So no live set as happened in September I presume. The 4 tracks that were played that night (The Harmony Codex, King Ghost, Economies of Scale & Actual Brutal Facts) have been made available as a...
I saw them on an early Deadwing tour date at the Bier Keller in Bristol, really small venue with a very low ceiling. Doubt there was more than 350 there.
MA guested on the first night, no others did. On the second night Gavin and Guthrie guested, along with Theo Travis.
Played most of the "Harmonic Distortion" tracks, I can't see myself revisiting them often. Probably the best of the bunch is the Mikael Akerfeldt vocalised "Time is Running Out". The Roland Orzabel...
Feel the Benefit is a later period classic, their standard gig opening track is Second Sitting of the Last Supper which totally rocks. I've a ticket to see them next year.
Graham Gouldman, I suspect.
It arrived on Saturday but been too busy to even open the package until today!
Because I attended the album playback event last week at EartH, I now have another standard version but with the...
Just back from The Harmony Codex album playback event. On first listen I like the album. The short set afterwards had Steven playing just keyboards and sequencers. Niko Tsonev played guitar and...
It's not my cup of tea either, you have the absolute right to say it how you feel.
I really liked that.
Incidentally, RIP John Marshall.
There is a The Harmony Codex listening event in London on September 27th, includes a 30 minute set by SW. It's now sold out but I managed to snag a ticket:
LINEUP
Album Playback: 8:00 PM...
It's also on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRJ9vNCwNxY
In the mid-70's saw Caravan on at least 5 times on their "Blind Dog..." tour.
Martin Orford sub'd for Jobson at yesterdays John Wetton tribute concert and did a fine job.
The big surprise was when Bruford was announced and actually played drums, however it was only on Bryan...
The crowdfunded live release from this tour dropped recently, and I have to say I'm underwhelmed. Nice to see the overlooked "Two Sisters" "Captive Heart" and "Black Flame" in the set but with so...
I was at a Colosseum gig tonight and at one point Clem Clemson said that the next song was written by the "Late Great" Pete Brown, I was shocked as I hadn't realised he had passed!
That's not due to be released until the end of June.
We have one in Basingstoke.
Re: the "risqué" lyrics to Easy Money
I guess most of my listening to this song, has been via live tracks from the 73-75 era. I'm not sure at the time if I even heard the original album version....
Mine did, thanks to COVID lockdown #2 and not playing golf for an extended period. My the time I got to see the specialist, no further action was required.
Wasn't there a rail and underground strike that day, that caused many to be unable to get there? Pretty sure I was due to go to a gig in Hackney on the same day which was near impossible, coming from...
Agreed. At the recent Rick Wakeman London gig where he played a whole Yes classics set, Hayley Sanderson did a fine job.
I doubt it, a hernia wouldn't affect the leg. Sounds more like Spinal Stenosis, which I had a few years ago.
I have all the albums and love "Bedside Manners...", even saw them around 1973 or so. Have zero memory of the concert.
I found some photos of him with the band, sporting a beard and straight hair. It is definitely him in the OGWT footage and the bassist in the first part has the same bass guitar.
I'm having the same problem with the The Flour Kings....
Bingo! Except Adam's Keytar wasn't working so had to rush back to the regular keyboards. And I have to say it was one of the best Starship Trooper renditions I've heard.
The company behind HRH has been getting some flack on Facebook, heard stories of cancelled weekends, bands not being paid and non-existent refunds.
Well I get to see Wakeman perform Wives and Arthur tonight. I hadn't listened to either album since the mid 70's, so are giving them a spin today. I was surprised how much of Wives was new to me....
I'm sure I have a strange disk with the CD version on one side and a DVD on the other. It's been such a long time since I've seen it I may be plain wrong.
From BigBigTrain.com:
Big Big Train are delighted to announce 15 further shows in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland and the UK to take place in August and September...
Excited to see the fairly long excerpt by Colosseum of "Lost Angeles".
That's how approach most of Neil Morse's solo output.
Saw them last week too, they did a co-headling tour with Gong recently. They were very good, first tour with a full band for a while.
I must have missed post-2010 Wilson/Harrison collaborations, doesn't ring any bells to me. Gavin did play a couple of songs at a SW concert at the Royal Albert Hall a few years ago.
Would loved to have seen the mk1 version playing. Luckily I got to see the trio.
Next for me is Ozric Tentacles and Gong in London. Frost a couple of weeks later.
We got one extra song, "I Drive the Hearse"...
Couple of funny moments, Steven seemed overwhelmed with the audience waving flashlights during "Collapse the Light..." and forgot the lyrics. Then in...
It was inspired by her first date with Roy Wood.
That version of Roundabout is way better that anything Yes has done for 40 years!
The European leg of the tour kicked off this week, one date so far and the setlist looks the same the majority of the Americas dates.
Got a ticket for both dates, still plenty available. The first night is the most interesting for me as I saw him performing "Journey..." a few years ago.
My recollection is a little hazy but I seem to remember that the UK release was delayed and I ended up having to buy a European copy. Or maybe that was to get bonus tracks...not sure now!
I was late to the Renaissance party, it wasn't until Northern Lights became a hit that started listening to their music and quickly acquired their back catalog. So Azure D'Or was the first new album...
I saw lots of bands in the early 70's that might be described as prog-friendly, such as Uriah Heep, Groundhogs, Trapeze. Probably the earliest was Indian Summer who were support for Johnny Winter in...
Pretty much what you would expect, good to see a few pre-Gavin songs being played. Will be interesting to see how static the setlists are.
Very surprised that the set lists for the three gigs varied at all, when they did the Grand Tour (tour) pretty sure every night was the same. The last gig in Holland got treated to East Coast Racer...
Well the second gig at Aylesbury saw a change in the setlist, an old favourite was added. However 3 songs were dropped which shortened the set by 15 minutes or so:
...
Indeed. There are certain songs that just wouldn't sound right not being sung by David. Alberto does a great job on the vocals and also plays some keyboards and acoustic guitar.
By the way make...
