I've been loving this trove from the PT vaults that is getting dumped on bandcamp. Great stuff.

Great list! You had me from "For Michael Collins, Jeffrey And Me", love "Dun Ringell" too. I remember reading Opeth used that as inspiration for "Will O' the Wisps" off one of their recent albums.
The previously unreleased song "Tomorrow Was Today" is particularly good out of the bonus material.
Got my copy today. Sounds great compared to the previous remaster that I owned.
I'm actually a huge fan of "Angel Rat" and "The Outer Limits", those were the first two albums of theirs' I purchased. The run from KT to TOL is all pretty awesome though.
This is Voivod's demographic. Count me among them.
I really enjoy HR. I think I've played it more than TaaB2 in the same amount of time. I agree with a previous commentor regarding the amount of lyrics. Ian perhaps should have written a historical...
Take my money!!!
The full album leaked a few days ago.
I always imagine that Awaken the Guardian is what young John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy listened to after band practice every night when they were teenagers.
I really dig this record. The Floating World is the perfect "mellow out" track. Can't wait for the Montreaux release! I've watched the video in amazement several times on youtube. I love the bass...
That's a good way of putting it. I'm somewhat ashamed to say my first time listening to this album all the way through was after purchasing this remaster last week.
After more listens today, the title track is my favorite. Reminds me a bit of "A Natural Disaster" and/or Radiohead. Love the vocal melody.
That sounds like an amazing show! I'm looking forward to picking up the new live album though too.
I gave the new album one listen tonight. It will need several more listens to have any to say other than the first impression was very good. It sounded like there was less Lee Douglas which is...
I was disappointed they didn't touch upon his Hawkwind year.
I was really surprised by how diverse their debut was. I was expecting it to be full of blues numbers but there is a lot more there.
Oh man, I haven't thought about that in a while.
I dig em. They are good live too.
I picked it up from the Ozrics site a while back. First I've heard these recordings and I like 'em.
Same here! It does sound great. Good performances too.
Mine shipped out today.
Yeah, it's one their album "Performance".
I still haven't received an update from Amazon regarding shipping.
I'm digging the record. Moreso than ADTOE. Myung has some good moments, his tone sounds better than it has in a long while. Lot's of Rush-like parts on this record.
I've only heard "One Little Victory" from the original mix. I'm a huge Rush fan but I never touched this record because all my buds said it sucked. Have the new mix on pre-order, going in with...
I think that is mainly how the bass was recorded. There is a lot of fretless bass on the record and it sounds like it was ran straight into the mixing board. That might sound great on a Jaco record,...
One of the better later-period HW albums. It have a very electronic-rock feel.
Same here. especially Voivod's version
My copy finally arrived! I must say, I think this collection is better than PT's 'real' first album.
Still waiting on mine! Hopefully the mailman brings it today.
I live in SLC and have seen these guys play live. There are about a half dozen other bands that these guys play in around town too. When I was playing a lot of music, we never got a chance to play a...
When/Where do I buy? I'm interested in this.
Haha. Doubt it, unless that horrible sounding bootleg was somehow taken from multitracks...
I just got my copy yesterday. I had one of the old CDs that was a transfer from an LP and this new Wilson remix blows it out of the water. Hawkwind had two drummers during this period and for the...
I am belong to a few, but just get the messages sent to my email.
Ok, this thread has piqued my interest in the new album. I am relatively new to Voivod, and The Outer Limits was the album that got me interested actually ("Jack Luminous" holy-hell.) I have...
This is great! Being a native Kentuckian I am all for prog + saying no to mountain top removal.
I love Usenet (or at least the idea of how it was in the late 80s and early 90s), but unfortunately didn't get to experience it till around 2002 or 2003. Then it was mostly just spam, but I did read...
Purchased, I have been looking for this for many years (but not wanting to shell out for the ebay prices.) Is the version of the title track different from what appears on "Staircase Infinities"?
Well, you would definitely die from nuclear war if you didn't kill yourself first (or by falling out of an bomber...)
Rutsey was with Alex and Geddy for like 5 or 6 years before they even recorded their first record, to me (and my opinion doesn't really matter, but so what) that feels like he deserves at least a nod...
I enjoy it too. It is better than Onward
I think that is a great live album! The version of SW4 is amazing to me.
I actually think James sounds way better live then on the records. I seen them once around 2002 and then again on their last tour and both times I really enjoyed his voice.
It's popular with me, I actually love "Falling into Infinity" and also the Demos CD from that album.
It's true that Myung did get a little more life in him on the last album (maybe Portnoy was...
I didn't get much throwback vibe off of ADToE, doesn't sound much like Awake or Images to me. I enjoyed it, but probably not in my top 5 DT albums. Agree with all the Labrie comments, my guess is he...
it probably won't be out for another year or more. It will be something to release between Raven and whatever next studio album he works on.
any word if any North American stores are going to carry the 3 disc version?
I think they have been working on an album for a few years off and on. The guitarist/singer has been putting out albums and a soundtrack the past couple of years.
I've heard they source some of their material from digital sources, but to be honest, all the 4 men with beards products I have sound good.
Yeah, ok. I just listened to it a again and there is a touch of Genesis with the acoustic guitar arpeggios. Now, if it had been a 12 string acoustic guitar...
I will give it a spin tomorrow! Sounds like a good show too.
I'm not hearing the Genesis in "The Watchmaker". I love the new album though, it's definitely my favorite of his solo records so far. I don't think I like it better than my favorite PT albums though.
I think Astounding is a good album too, but the opinion on that album is divided compared to Warrior.
They get love from me, I have nearly all of their studio albums and many of their live albums. They are one of my favorite bands.
This all sounds amazing, I'm sure I will be buying a lot of this stuff this year.
I bet it will be packaged with APP as bonus material. "The album that might have been" perhaps?
Seems like I read once that Steven was very interested in doing this album in 5.1
No info, but I hope he is playing the title track from YHD, I think it's one of the best early PT songs.
