Re: Yellowstone To Hal - Me and Den couldn't get through the first couple episodes.
Memory fades, but I'm pretty sure it was Zappa in 75-76ish. Got a special surprise at that show as Flo & Eddie came out for the encore...and they played 4-5 songs by the Turtles for the encore! :)
That's what I've heard from friends!
Hey Ian! Hope all is good ma man!
Love Lemmings, it's the only one I got.
Brand X is one of those bands from the 70s that i loved back then, (even saw them with Collins on drums), but doesn't do anything at all for me now.
"My Brilliant Friend". Not American per se, but it is on HBO. Just an amazingly beautiful series. particularily if you're of Italian heritage. The story of two (very intelligent) female friends...
Hey bro, how's things? :D There's definitely a few Zeuhlish licks on The Magus. However, generally speaking i don't find them a lot like Magma. Mathematical Mother definitely leans more to fusion...
One of the best italian prog albums ever afaic... with nods to the first 2 as well.
I think this should have broader appeal in the general prog community (more than their first 2)... a lot more...
I've seen them a couple times...just incredible live.
I like to see bands take it to different levels, but the more money involved in a show/production, the less chance of any variation.
VITO!! :D
hahahaha Cheers! :D
Hello, I've been lurking since December 1999. Interesting place.
Ana Torres from Universal Totem Orchestra. Highly recommended, very very unique in a very very good way. Start with Mathematical Mother

Hey Greg! yeah, saw them in St. Catharines last week, was a fantastic show! Loved the double drums, with Clive making a return.
The best female progressive rock singer on the planet is a no brainer for me: Ana Torres from Universal Totem Orchestra. They have 3 albums out over a near 20 year span. She sings mostly in Latin...
NHL has gone to crap. The cap is just insanity. Owners demanding caps, then paying top dollars to top accounting minds so they can circumvent the rules they demanded. lol
The playoffs have...
This Phantasia is kinda cool too

Yet he sampled King Crimson. My kids now know 21st Century Schizoid Man...and were proud that their world met mine, however briefly.
I remember seeing a 3 piece once who blew me away for how incredibly Canterbury they were. Keyboardist was nailing that Stewart/Ratledge sound, the bass player was clearly a Hopper disciple, and the...
True. However, much of that is due to parents' insistence on brainwashing kids from the time that they are born that the only true good music, is what THEY happen to like. Let's be honest here. :) ...
"We've heard it all before"
Wow. That is my biggest complaint about what people call "new prog". The recycling in prog is beyond belief. That is why VERY little new "prog" does anything for...
I prefer some of his other works myself, however, seeing as this one is new, short, and has an over all positive message, not thuggish...ahhhh waddu I care. lol Just trying to get some people to...
The new Kanye West album... 27 minutes long... "Jesus Is King" . Truly a great piece of work.
I'm not religious in any way, so got nothing to do with that. It's a work of art, and Kanye is...
Positive vibes out to the aged one!!
We had recorded the first 3 epis, because we like to watch as a family and schedules are difficult to get the four of us in the same room. So we watched the first two the other night. Then I came to...
hahahahahahaha
Forget all that shit, let me tell ya about the time *I* was stuck on a deserted island....
;)
Awesome ! I remember in the 70s reading an article in TV Guide, where they interviewed him about The Jeffersons show. Then they asked about his other passtimes....and he brings up music collecting....
yes. :)
But there is another show we just saw which had it as well!
I've heard "In every dream home, a heart ache" by Roxy Music on 3 different tv shows or movies lately. wtf. Just being discovered...
Yeah, I remember Laidlaw too! Didn't realize he was the first Canadian ever to play Survivor! I was saying to my kids that first week...he's playing it like a hockey player....orchestrating moves,...
I'm in! :D
I love covers. Bullcrap about stealing other people's creativity. If that's all an artist did was cover, ok, maybe I'd get it. But if an artist has done all their own work, but decide once in a...
You might like (from Curved Air) Darryl Way's Wolf. Mostly instrumental. "Saturation Point" is probably my fave of the trio of albums. Esoteric re-issued these about 10 years ago. Stay well...
The last minute and a half make my spine shiver every time.

The Last Great Picture Show
Midnight Cowboy

Long time fan here. Never did get to see them, or Tony in any way shape or form. For Southern Ontarians...I got turned on to them listening to Dave Marsden on CFNY in the mid 70s...he used to...
Line of Duty.... just excellent British cop drama
yes, have to get this new one!
Saw them about 5 years ago iirc. Thomas sat in a chair most of the night, but it was brilliant show.
I mean, you're making a huge assumption that the moon landing actually happened, right?? :D
My current hash supplier: a local delivery service marijuana business. lol You go to their website ...think of it as a take out pizza menu.... select what you want, call them up, give them your...

The best part about vaping if you're in to that...is that you can use the spent weed to make edibles. I still smoke, because I'm a hash guy, but my wife smokes a lot of weed, and she vapes. The...
Hahahaha. I get it.
And whether somebody is serious or not, doesn't change what it feels like to be threatened. However, he threatened a lot of people ...and as soon as he met them, the only...
I understand why people have negative feelings towards him.
But like I've always said, once you met him, you kind of understood him. Not to excuse any of his uncalled for behaviour... I just...
Yes, I've always thought of Caravan as exuding a playful, youthful sound... I think happy is also a great way to describe them. :)
One of the few bands i was in to heavily in 70s that I still have...
My oldest son is a freak, a free spirit, an artist, a hippie at heart, always looking to push the boundaries in musical discovery and appreciation... he thinks Kanye is a musical genius of the...
The Goldbergs is the best show for 80's nostalgia. and hilarious too!!
Yeah, Eloy was a HUGE bummer. However, on a personal note, I feel so fortunate to have seen Wetton live for the first time. And just in time...
Universal Totem Orchestra - Rituale Alieno & The Magus
I can't love this band any more than I do.
I think post rock is the prog of the modern day even though it's not prog. If I was 16 all over again, chances are I'd be a post rock junkie the way i was "prog" junkie back in the day.
Young...
I bought this on German import back in the late 70s. The sound was so bad it was a huge turn off. I probably should go back and check it out one of these days. I think I played it once or twice...
All is great Walt, nothing but the same to you my friend!
I think more people have to admit that it's just not our world any more. I used to stress about stuff as it related to my kids. It took a gentle reminder from my wife that it's a new world...but no...
Love Orville. Of course, our house is full of Seth fans.
Some of the best times of my life, as it relates to music. Just an amazingly run festival with incredible performers through the years, both in headliners and lesser knowns.
I'd still be making the...
Yeah, I think they are touring here, but won't be til spring 2020...iirc...if it actually pans out.
