I know I love Italian prog! Greg Walker has a good retirement with all the cd's I've ordered from him LOL.
Some good sounds. It amazes me how much good music still comes out of Italy.
I think it's there best also.
Grobschnitt's debut of course Ballerman and Solar Music Live. Embryo Stieg Aus, Agitation Free At the Cliffs of the River Rhine, Malesch and 2nd just to name a few. And I must not forget Walter...
Yes Stagnation and The Knife are great. But White Mountain is a masterpiece of complicated bliss IMO.
Gilmour is better but Latimer is not far behind.
Trespass is Genesis first great prog album. It stands up or surpasses anything in 1970. White Mountain is worth the price of admission alone.
You have great taste. Wind is awesome you never hear them mentioned.
Paternoster is a great album! Love there dark erie organ sound!
This is too funny! I have read your posts and you have no idea what King Crimson is all about. Your loss!
Octopus is the next one if The Power and The Glory sell well enough according to SW.
Bobby Caldwell, Clive Bunker, Carl Palmer, Ginger Baker, Chris Maitland, John Bonham,Barriemore Barlow, Terry Bozzio, Bill Bruford, Billy Cobham. My ten! Honorable mention Mitch Mitchell.
It must have been your rot? It sure was never Hendrix!
Saw them live at Progfest 97 great gig. Like all there albums but I have not heard ' Into The Maelstrom' yet.
Can't wait for Steven Wilson to remix this baby. And add some live gems from this era of Jethro Tull.
Twelve Dreams is a classic I never get tired of.
I was at that gig 6/27/72 at the Long Beach Arena Ca. The whole band was on fire that night one of my most cherished shows.
Have you ever seen them live? I saw them twice 5/69 first American tour Rose Palace Pasadena Ca. 6/27/72 Long Beach Arena the shows they released on " How The West Was Won." You are a idiot sir!
The last time I saw Nektar live was at the Long Beach Arena 1974 great show! Anybody remember that show?
You should try the title tune In A Glass House. I know it's a hard one to tackle but fun.
I got sick of all the hassles getting the mag on time. And in my opinion the reviews are not as good as they used to be. I subscribed for ten years my last issue was in 07.

The live gig at Hyde Park in 1970 is very good. And can be found on " The Harvest Years " a great comp of the band.
Yes some of his stuff he masters is not his fault Repertoire gives him bad tapes and rush's him. But his Silver Mint Series of live concerts are great as is some of his latest Grobschnitt remasters...
Why do have to go to the gutter dude? That quote is pure nasty and no reason for it.
Death Walks Behind You is my favorite Atomic Rooster album.
His mastering on SPV of five Grobschnitt albums were great. His Silver Mint Series is top notch. And his Gentle Giant remasters are good. Hoffman and Gray are the best so you are saying Eroc is in...
That is as far from the truth as you can get! Eroc's work is top notch your ears must have cotton in them!!!
53 on that list I don't think all are true prog?
The Blu-Ray Audio of Grobschnitt - Solar Music Live.
Sounds killer to me also. Eroc said the new ones from Universal will be deluxe versions with extra tracks and 24/192 so we will have to see?
The Repertoire remasters are good I have them also but the 5 SPV are better. And the new deluxe editions from Universal which come out in Spring of 2014 are the definitive versions Eroc said so we...
E.A. Poe Generazioni, Cherry Five, Divae, Yatha Sidhra, Arachnoid, Last Laugh and so many more!
I was there from the beginning and never left. It is still popular in my mind.
Eroc remastered five titles only on SPV Rockpommels Land, Ballerman, Jumbo, Solar Music, and Illegal. And then the company went bankrupt and the project ended. So if you bought any of those titles...
Great sound on all of them. Mastered by Eroc you will dig them. The Silver Mint Series will go 56 CD's.
I think you hit the nail on the head!
This is a appreciation thread for Grobschnitt's album " Rockpommel's Land" Why post if you don't like it? What good are you doing?
If you are a Grobschnitt fan I can't stress enough to check out Eroc's Silver Mint Series!
The whole Grobschnitt catalog is being remastered one more time by Eroc with bonus material. Coming out Jan. 2014.
Love this one the 26 minute "Metamorfosi" is the best live version ever! 76 minutes of pure bliss!
Eroc is a member over on the Hoffman site and posts there sometimes under Eroc. As far as Rockpommels Land I think it is great but like there Solar Music Live better. And the Silver Mint Series of...
Well I would suggest getting help? You started drinking at age 13 so I do not know your age but it is a big problem when you drink and get angry. All I can say is you know you have a problem that...
I don't know what your problem is Modry Effekt but you are a big man to apologize that is for sure. And I have seen your posts you have great taste in music. I hope every thing works out well for...
Where do the Hidden Masters fit which Genre?
Yes I hear you! it is self serving to the max!!!
Add Xhol Caravan to the mix and I'm in agreement.
I also go with Xhol Caravan as one of the early players in prog.
Your right maybe I started it going off track with KC in 1969.
In my opinion Pink Floyd were prog beginning with Meddle.
It is a tough read but informative.
Does anybody remember a American proto prog band Touch? Who put out there self titled album in early 1969. For a American band they had some cool Prog elements. There album was released on...
Thank You for understanding my dilemma. But the spelling attacks were just a front to upend my opinions on the subject"Progressive Rock." But yes I agree with what you are saying.
I'm sorry to you this thread took a turn for the worst. I was the victim of the grammar and punctuation attack. I was humiliated and taunted because of some spelling mistakes. But I know the real...
Gentle Giant The House, The Street, The Room.
You don't have time because you can't have you're way. The only sheep I see around here is you. You are a internet terrorist whose only mission is to pick fights create havoc then run and hide...
I stand by my opinion ITCOTCK is the first "fully developed prog album." Post #180 shows the real you and you can't take that tantrum back baby that is you're Epitaph.
I agree 100%.
That is not true. But I have stuck to my opinion all through this thread where you have changed opinions. If you recall in a thread to you I said " If you think it is the Soft Machine that is cool...
Jimi Hendrix toured with the Soft Machine in the early days. Hendrix was at a club and saw the original King Crimson in England "and said this is the best band I ever seen." Very high praise coming...
