I plan to attend Roye's solo show in Kansas City on October 24. The place (Gospel Lounge Stage at Knucklehead's Saloon) is very small. Supposedly the show is being filmed for DVD release. I have no...
I discovered Lake by hearing "Hopeless Love" on FM radio in college in the late 70s. That was from their third album Paradise Island. I liked it and the first two.
Lead singer James Hopkins-Harrison...
Saw his Oct. 19 show in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Great band and showmanship by Ian. Liked the videos playing behind the band. However, Ian's voice is a shell of what it once was. No power or stamina. Ian...
Madison is sold out according to the Barrymore Theater website.
A nonprog example, but drunk talkers and wannabe singers in the row behind me ruined my Eagles concert experience last weekend. Hoping KC in Madison will be different.
Madison on 9/23.
I'd attend this show if it wasn't halfway across the country. Annie has carried the Renaissance banner for a long time without protest from the other original members.
I applaud you for doing...
It's not Shank Hall. Their website says no recording and, from attending some shows, they are not friendly about that subject.
Announced today on their Facebook page. Says due to "major health problems".
Family event arose after I bought the ticket. It is Row A of the circle level (first level above the floor). Seat looks about halfway between Squire and Davison's stage locations. Private message me.
Have my Madison ticket. Balcony row A for this KC virgin.
Ax's.com email I received today lists Syd Arthur opening for Yes in Kansas City in early August.
Still kicking myself for not seeing them open for Steve Hackett in Milwaukee in 2010. I think that was their last Midwest performance.
I understand their budget constraints but their fan base does...
Rock Island show on 9/19 is within striking distance for me.
I've seen them three times: 1993 with Ray and a symphony. Then 2010 and 2013. 1993 show was the best. The other shows were good but 2013 was 20 minutes shorter than 2010.
My first KC experience: got a ticket in balcony Row A in Madison. Hope it's worth the 4 hour drive each way.
Confused about Madison sale. Listed as reserved seating but does not say a row or seat. Just reserved balcony or reserved main floor section 1,2,3, or 4. Anyone else experience this?
Very confused about Madison seating. Reserved seats but they do not show a row or seat. Just that you have a reserved balcony seat or a reserved main floor section 1,2,3, or 4 seat.
Hoping to catch the Des Moines show.
This song is "I Know You Rider", not " Misty". Several 60s-70s SF bands did this song (Dead, Janis, Hot Tuna).
Last summer I saw Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash. They headlined some shows with Nektar. I thought Martin's band sounded good and tight. However, other friends with me said Martin's band can't hold a...
Saw the Zombies last fall. Collin Blunstone sings "Old and Wise" which he sang for Alan Parsons Project.
Starship sucks (this from a huge Jefferson Starship fan). They do some JS and Airplane...
I have 50-75 blank minidiscs. Bought them in bulk online when I thought this was the stealth recording wave of the future. Now I use a Sony P210 unit. Small enough to conceal in my pocket and my...
Minidisc was my stealth concert recording mode from 2003-2011. Improvement over flipping tapes in the dark. Have many yet to transfer to CD but the recorder battery died and the replacement batteries...
I am considering seeing the final scheduled show in Milwaukee on Oct. 30. However, I had read on Pollstar that the encores were supposed to include some Yardbirds songs. I saw Wilson and his band a...
