None that I've heard of, but I would like to have them all on vinyl for sure.
Ah man! They're playing Knoxville, which is about a 4 hour drive from where I live. Seriously considering making the trip for this, as I would really like to see them.
The Tangent are great! One of the best modern prog-rock projects around IMO.
Yes, I agree. He has a serious case of overinflated ego. This stuff he keeps going on and on about just strikes me as petty and I find it a bit obnoxious to be honest.
Yes, almost. :lol ;)
Same old Roger, it seems. :lol
Good grief, that guy...
I'm glad he's happy with that stuff too. I'm happy with it as well. I'm just sorry you've lost respect for him over something so trivial.
Heck, even Zappa began playing to the lowest common...
I disagree. I think you misunderstand his sense of humor and his personality. He's never come across as "arrogant" to me. His demeanor is stiff and very "British", but he's also self-deprecating and...
Is it possible that Tony is more maligned here than Phil Collins?
I dunno. His orchestral albums weren't exactly chasing after the almighty dollar. I think he actually cares about making...
That sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon! :cool
Same here. It's bittersweet for sure, but I'm grateful for it all the same. :heart
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the book, man. It looked like a beautiful piece of work. :up
Maybe I'm dense, but why would it be a vinyl rip? :huh
^ Got that one too! :ipa
Never heard of Moom, but now I definitely want to check them out. Cheers, Scrot! :ipa
Wait, which album are you talking about? :huh
I bought The Future Bites, which is the one I was referring to -- although I also got To The Bone, and I like them both.
That's interesting. Well, I bought the CD at least. :D
Got any proof to back that up?
:lol :lol
Okay I get it now. :D
Do you have the vinyl edition, Frank? I already have Stardust on vinyl so I initially passed on this one, but hearing your feedback on the changes makes me want to reconsider. :)
Yeah man! I loved that whole box set really. An excellent collection of discs. :up
The Claypool Lennon Delirium - South of Reality
King's X - Faith Hope Love
Both on vinyl. Picked them up at my local record store. :heart
La Maschera di Cera - S.E.I.
Wow... the only Grobschnitt I have is Rockpommel and Jumbo, so maybe I should give this one (and Solar Music Live a listen too and get a better idea of what these guys were all about.
Thanks! I missed that before somehow. :lol
Thanks Ian! I somehow overlooked that there was a vinyl edition. :)
I understand. :D This Soft Machine release is one that I've had on my wishlist, so thank you for reminding me to get it.
...
Same here. I was a bit confused by that description.
An Egg-fest sounds pretty good right now! I need to listen to them again, as it has been a while. :)
Manna/Mirage continues to grow on me. :up
Steve, I didn't realize that you played on some of the Muffins' records. How did that come about?
I only have Erpland (which is indeed great!), but what is the Soft Machine archival release called? I didn’t realize there was a vinyl edition of anything SM related recently.
:up
Don’t miss We Like It Here. That’s my favorite from them, and I was fortunate enough to buy a copy on vinyl and get the band to autograph it when I saw them a few years ago. :heart
Yeah, Tom Brislin is a great musician (and a nice guy too). He has been a great addition to Kansas, and would have been a real asset for Yes had they made him a permanent member.
No, I don't think he's that at all. He's just not afraid to speak his mind.
I guess you've never seen the interviews or documentaries where he's joking around and laughing with the guys. :lol
...
I actually like the new mix for "The Truth Will Set You Free". It opens the song up more sonically, IMO.
It's okay, man. I just wanted to help set the record straight, in case you had an impression of Nick that wasn't accurate.
On my second listen of Manna/Mirage now, and I am enjoying it. It's not what I was expecting, but it's actually better I think. My fav tune so far is "Amelia Earhart" but the whole album has stuff...
I'm psyched to get some of these on vinyl, like Flower Power and Retropolis. Hoping that Space Revolver isn't too far off also.
The Muffins - Manna/Mirage
Gracias! :ipa
:lol That would be pretty funny.
I'm about halfway through "Amelia Earhart" now, and this is good stuff. Dense, and will take me more listens to absorb it, but so far I like it!
Thanks Steve! :up
I'm gonna queue up Manna/Mirage for listening this afternoon. First time ever hearing The Muffins for me.
:)
Is that interview on your site? I didn't realize you had interviewed Nick before, but I'd like to see it.
Whoa! Thanks for reminding me of this. I almost missed it. :oops
:lol I understand. Yes' music is a heck of a drug, I guess. ;)
But seriously, I wouldn't say you were being naive for thinking that. In a weird way it's kind of comforting to know that Yes threads...
What disc/album is that? I'm a bit confused as to what edition that is, but I'd like to hear it. :)
This is an interesting take, even though I don't agree with it. I think by X the band found their own footing without Neal.
I like the way you said this. :lol
IMO, Neal is at his best...
The only post-Neal SB album that really didn't do anything for me was The Oblivion Particle. I've liked or even loved all the others.
X is phenomenal, their self-titled one is really good, Octane...
What is your beef with Nick? :lol
Have you ever met him, or seen him perform in concert before? I have, multiple times, and he is nothing like you are describing. I spoke with him after the shows...
Hey man, I really hope you have a good time at the show Tuesday when you see them. It sounds like it will be a fun night out. I know what you mean about it not being as much about the music nowadays;...
It is kinda strange that Yes threads tend to be so contentious -- and not just on PE, but on the Internet at large.
I haven't watched any of these videos posted from the recent tour shows. I was...
YATTE - Sweet Shelter
YATTE - Shadow Work

Crazy right? I took my vinyl copy off the shelf to listen to. It's been a hot minute!
I still really like this album, even if it didn't quite reach the heights of Desolation Rose for me.
I had dinner with my brother yesterday and he came over to my house for a while. He just got Shredder's Revenge and said it was really good so far. We used to play the heck out of Turtles in Time...
^ He went on a bit of a rant there, didn't he? :lol
I'm still looking forward to this one myself. If it's better than The Incident, then I'll be pretty happy.
This thread has been an enjoyable read so far. I never knew much about the Muffins, but this discussion is making me eager to hear this box set when it comes out. :ipa
I just ordered this one too.
I really liked Subversia. Some really nice compositions and playing on that one. Such a loss when Guy passed away. :(
I'm glad you folks like it! These guys deserve the attention, IMO. :heart
Great album. If I didn’t already own it on CD I’d have bought this one. :)
So sad to hear this. I hope he's able to fight it. :(
