Wow, that looks very cool. I've been told I'm not to spend any money for a couple months, lol.
Thanks for the write-ups, guys. Very interesting to read.
Never heard anything in their music I'd consider prog?
I loved Spock's Beard initially. Snow was like finding an oasis in the desert and I was so happy to find someone still making prog rock (in 2002/2003). That's still probably my favorite SB album. ...
Your mileage may vary, but I think they both have some strong material and are worth having. Great modern production compared to many of their earlier albums.
This is my favorite track from Heaven Forbid. Also sung by Buck. Plus a nice guitar solo. And to me it has that classic creepy BOC vibe.

My coworker just mentioned in a meeting last week that he had to stay home and take care of his wife's dog because she had to go to Colorado to play with SGM at the Stanley Hotel. I think it was...
Concord, NH for us.
Wow, never once had any issue with the vocals on Imaginos. Always loved that album, whoever is responsible for making it. Never looked too deeply into who was singing what songs, although I did...
It's growing on me and I think you picked my favorites as well.
Bought tickets for the Concord, NH show a couple days ago. Seemed like they were going fast.
It was great to chat with you and Karen even if just for a few minutes. Hopefully we'll have an opportunity for a longer conversation someday soon.
I wasn't quite as impressed with the sound but...
Is it just me or does The Likes Of Us sound a bit more "rawk" than previous releases? It seems a bit more drums-forward and somehow more stripped down or just has more separation between the various...
To me, aside from Steve Hackett or someone like that with a historically higher profile than many, the attendance seems entirely within the norm of every other small prog band tour I've witnessed...
I doubt the band can afford TV commercials and radio ads. What other forms of promotion were you thinking?
Boston (Arlington) is tonight.
Likewise!
I'll be there with my wife, my son, and my friend Steve who I think you met before. I think we're about 10 rows back in the center section, right next to the aisle.
You're welcome! Sounds like you figured it out in the end. :)

Right, not in my original post, but in a later post that attempted to explain my confusion is where I used the word mono.
It was not my intent to "imply" anything. I was trying to say that...
I knew, rather vaguely, that he didn't get along that well with Sting, but since I never followed those guys too closely most of the info was new to me.
I was kind of surprised Rick didn't know Stewart hadn't done soundtrack stuff for a long time. Not a big deal and it's not that I knew either, but it seems like Rick is usually better prepared...
Deep Tracks is just too far off the beaten path, lol.
(I've told this story before, but...)
A coworker many years ago had Sirius radio and was always blasting some classic rock station in the...
Absolutely not needed, but I personally did appreciate the results of the dicking around.
Correct. Not that it matters, but that's why I specifically highlighted the word mono in my post.
In general I agree that shorter albums work better for me these days, but I will wait to hear how this album comes out. If the material is strong I'm fine with it.
Sorry, apparently there was some miscommunication because I don't need any help at all. This is not something I need to do and I've already watched a couple videos that explain it. I was merely...
Jonas Reingold shared this news on Facebook:
"KARMAKANIC NEWS!!!
The new album of Karmakanic is currently in progress. I have just completed the composition phase, resulting in 12 songs and...
If you open up the Superior 3.0 VST and go to Settings --> Advanced and look down at the bottom of the screen you'll see what I'm talking about. Apparently this is just to output 32 mono tracks ...
I'll have to see if I can find a screenshot to explain what I'm talking about. Maybe I'm confusing it with a different plugin or something.
I'm just glad you didn't put "True Detective" and "best all time ending" in the same sentence. Oh, crap....
I messed with that a couple of times years ago with Superior 2.0, but I think for 3.0 that functionality became exclusive to Cubase users? (I'm using Reaper.)
But SD 3.0 has a pretty capable...
Nice! I like the drum sounds you came up with. I use Superior Drummer 3. I've mostly just used some presets that it came with.
Yes, I was just watching a YouTube video about this a few days ago. Shocking/not shocking.
Good information and I don't doubt anything you're saying. I'm not sure what camp my coworker's father was talking about, perhaps it was an exception. I can imagine if there were any towns people...
I don't really have the patience to program drums, so what I've been doing recently is playing the drums myself and then editing my performance (MIDI) in the DAW later. It's interesting trying to...
My coworker's father was part of a group of soldiers who were tasked with scouring the landscape as WWII was winding down looking for Nazis who were hiding out. He was involved with going into one...
Yeah, I've noticed these things too. What are ya gonna do? Hollywood....
re: CYE It took me a bit to get into the show when I first started watching it years ago. A couple of times I just felt...
I didn't walk out but I wanted to.
Anyone been watching the final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm? The second episode was a classic.
Interesting. Must be a formatting or file system issue.
Yeah, I'm not sure what it is, but I have similar feelings about this show.
Yes, it's much easier to program drums from the DAW.
I no longer own any drum machines, but I recall a Boss DR-550 drum machine, an Alesis, and a Roland, but those latter two might have been borrowed from friends. I was never a fan of trying to...
I don't know how long ago that was, but on my TD-17KVX there are settings for manipulating the sensitivity of the pads so that won't happen. It's not always very intuitive as far as what settings...
Glad to hear it. It's always nice when things start working.
I spent some time last weekend trying to get the standard MIDI connections working with my Minifreak. Half the battle was getting...
I use Thunderbird to view Gmail - so what is on my computer is just a mirror of what's on the site.
I'm a CD person. I have a handful of download-only albums, but it's never going to be more than...
I thought that was Stardust?
I think the remix/remaster of Flower Power is awesome. I found some parts far more listenable than the original. :beer
Of course. I was just kidding around, but I guess that doesn't convey sometimes.
I would think there would be very little (if any) difference in the way the drivers operate in Windows 10 versus Windows 11, but I don't really know. I was going to suggest trying to install a...
That is a weird problem. In the second instance, is there a way to play with the buffer settings? Just wondering if a higher buffer setting would be less CPU intensive.
Is this a Windows-based...
I put this on for the trip home yesterday and realized I'm an idiot (this keeps happening to me, lol). I definitely remembered the opening tune as I recall playing drums to it several times. :rofl...
The legato situations were all due to how I played the notes on the Microfreak keys. I've seen some people mention something about some notes not having "note offs" at the end of the note? I should...
I just realized I should give this another spin because I remember nothing about it! I only liked a few songs from Falling Satellites.
Reaper has a million options to weed through....I keep thinking there's some box that needs to be ticked or unticked.
I'm really not sure how long I've been reading this site....probably right around 20 years?! How is that possible?
I continue to visit this site every couple of days and sip daintily from the...
