It's hard to tell nowadays, ya know? I will say that I think cover has a lot of nuances; the landscape looks like a mix between desert and water, some of the figures look like Chthulu or Apollo, and...
That chorus is so catchy. My 19 year old daughter and I often play this and "Dead Meat" in the car when we're running around town. She actually turned me on to "The Claypool/Lennon Delirium" discs,...
Yes, he is. Guitar playing on this release is super tasty.
I haven't been this impressed with a modern release in a long time. Strap your cans on, pour a glass of red (or roll a spliff) and...
I'm listening to Sean Lennon's new EP "Asterisms", and it is absolutely amazing! Super lo-fi psych prog.
I don't usually start threads here, but I'm positive a lot of folks on the forum would...
I almost fell out of my chair when Alex told Geddy that he looks like Janis Joplin lol :)
I've seen them a dozen times live, and they are my top dozen shows I've been to. There's such a joyous...
Amazing conversation. I was going to pop in and watch a few minutes, and I wound up watching the whole thing. Very heartwarming.
I love the song; it's exactly what I want to hear from Moon Safari. Beautiful writing and harmonies. The lead vocals are the best I've heard from them, and the little break at around 7 minutes has...
That's really interesting, because after listening to the whole thing "Return" seemed like a culmination of the entire album. Almost seems like you worked backwards!
Just heard the 17 minute instrumental that ends the album, and you were 100% correct. Such a JAM!!!
"Mare Sirenum" is another stand out track. I really love those little trippy tracks.
...
Also, click the link and you can listen to the title track, which is a really eerie and dark - and amazing - track.
Starts off very "Arabian" with Middle-eastern style percussion with some great...
Absolutely LOVE this jam! The guitar solo is absolutely bananas.
You can take my Glass Hammer discs from my dead cold fingers. And I don't even have a CD player :)
They're my favorite prog...
Glass Hammer is ALWAYS day one buy for me. Already pre-ordered; can't wait!
Welcome aboard!
Dude, that's an amazing story!
Thomas Dolby at home.
I agree with this. Just start at the top and take the journey.
I dunno, the chorus is catchy :horns
Apparently so! I've listened to nothing but the UK album all night, and I've never heard guitar playing like Allan's. I'm absolutely floored.
That said - I'm not really a fusion guy. Any help...
Thanks for sharing. ;)
You know, that band always annoyed me as a young fella. I thought it was AM Radio soft rock.
But last year I was on a long trip with my non-prog wife, so I just dialed up a 70's playlist on...
I've heard over and over how great UK's debut album is, and - for whatever reason - I've never listened to any of it in my 40-odd years of progging.
Holy smokes, what an amazing album! I've been...
Just got mine in the mail the other day, looking forward to spending time with it tomorrow.
I'm happy to support Kevin. His Yes Music podcast has kept me company at work many days!

I really dug the video! I'm checking out your other stuff now as well.
I feel so lucky to have access to content like this. Absolutely amazing.
Phil is KILLING it on Watcher of the Skies!

The other issue with playing the new stuff live is there are Jimmy Page levels of guitar tracks on the Mirror to the Sky. Jon would have to carry the acoustic guitar duties throughout the show.
7:50 into the title track is the sweet spot. Such a cool riff, Downes' piano is nice, and Schellen's percussion is amazing. I think it's one of the most beautiful moments I've heard from Yes.
I can't stop listening to the title track from the new album. That little guitar riff at the beginning which comes back in the middle is so great!
It's very un-Yes-ish.
I'm the same way. "International Dark Sky Park" is playing non-stop in my brain, which gets annoying when I'm trying to concentrate at work. :)
I'm a HUGE Glass Hammer fan, and when I heard...
That is exactly what I was thinking after listening to the album. I think it's his best Yes guitar work since Drama, and it was a pleasure listening to Howe use all the tools in his toolbox.
I...
Just listened through it for the first time, and it is a monumental improvement over H&E and The Quest. I listened to those discs once, and then put them in the landfill with the Atari 2600 ET...
Don't think this review was shared yet. Quite positive.

I think we all remember our "first". I went into a record shop looking for 90125 after I heard Owner on the radio, but they were sold out. So, I saw another Yes album with panthers on the cover...
I feel guilty because last week I DM'ed Richie on Twitter BEGGING him to put "Ritual" back in the setlist for the Baltimore show. I offered him $10 cash ;)
So, sorry about that.
We shoot the messenger around these parts
I agree! It's the natural progression from 90125. I really like the title track (some amazing harmonies there), "Final Eyes", and the two poppy side openers. "I'm Running" is a complete trip as...
Just got back from Baltimore, and I was absolutely blown away. If you are anywhere near one of the upcoming venues, do not miss this show. The band was on FIRE all night, and Jon's voice is nothing...
I hope they do Saturday night in Baltimore. I was really looking forward to that number.
This is quite the inspiring quote.
I haven't looked forward to a show this much in I don't know how long. It's an absolute miracle that Jon still sounds like that, and the band around him are phenomenal.
If you see a fellow in a...
I just got back from the Brit Floyd show in Baltimore, and saw the May 6 Anderson/Geeks show advertised at the venue. Wasn't sure if I was going to pull the trigger on this until I saw the Youtube...
Ray Wilson was a very good singer, but I think following Gabriel and Collins on stage would've been too much for most.
I remember hearing "Owner of a Lonely Heart" on the radio and rushing to the record store to grab whatever album had that song on it. Unfortunately, they were sold out of 90125, so while looking at...
Between you, Billy and Jon there's a good opportunity for some intricate vocal lines and harmonies, I think. I had the pleasure of seeing you perform on Cruise to the Edge a few years back and...
Lennon Claypool Delirium
OK that cracked me up lol
If Fred is writing those riffs, he's killing it! :)
I've heard the same thing, but - like you - I disagree with that complaint. The one thing that endears me most to this band is their DIY ethic. Sometimes, if you don't have a singer around, you...
I'm listening to the new release at the moment - man, there are some KILLER riffs on these songs. Much like their previous release. They've really gone down the Purple/Sabbath rabbit hole. ...
I got the signed trilogy in the mail the other day. Even came with a little sticky with a hand-written "Thank you" as well - nice touch!
I'll be jumping into all three over the weekend.
Sweet! I ordered the signed trilogy set. Glass Hammer is always an auto buy.
This is great. I really enjoy the "Buggles-centric" tracks on FFH.
Great interview. Steve seems so positive and energetic! It's very nice to see.
Sounds great! Would be killer live :)
Hard to believe Dug is 72 years old.
Yes.
Is the band we're discussing in this thread. ;)
Fantastic interview. Best one I've seen with Steve.
Ditto. That's a great comparison. I'm a huge Matthew Sweet fan - "Altered Beast" is probably my favorite power pop album of all time. "Kimi Ga Suki" is right up there as well.
Phasors on Stun is a classic for sure. "Krakow" of the City of Fear album is another favorite of mine.

My favorite prog album. Absolutely love it - only complaint is the ending drags a bit.
