Great cover :)

You forgot le Silo for the 2nd time.
I don't get it either.

Is this a joke, or are we all supposed to know which band you are referring to?

I tried that, too. Sent an e-mail to all the band members, but none of them replied.
I ordered one of their earlier albums from Bandcamp. Never received it. Had lots of e-mail conversation with them, where they first claimed they had already sent it, later that they would send it...
Disco Volante, no doubt,

What's the Zappa family's view on cell phones?

Me want to know, too.

That!

I guess they are loud and can be heard from a long distance...

I like the instrumental parts, though it sounds a little bit dated. I have an LP with this line up, but I've never really enjoyed it because of the vocals.
Sent from my phone via Tapatalk
How did you hear about it in the first place?
Sent from my phone via Tapatalk
How do you know which floor you are on? Didn't get any such information when I booked.
Sent from my phone via Tapatalk
I didn't know they hade two. I have one of their double CDs (don't remember what it's called). Can you compare the two?
Sent from my phone via Tapatalk
Are those two videos the same band? Sounded very different to me.
Sent from my phone via Tapatalk
Cabezas de Cera is a great band. Never heard the others.

Wasn't there a thread about that recently? Or was that about the older Quebec scene?
If you can't find it, I suggest you start a new thread on the subject. There may be others that are interested...
Played this just a few days ago. I think I have all of their albums, so I obviously like them. Can't pick a favourite, though. But I prefer this to it's "brother" Jongleries Elastique".

That was good! Never heard of them. Where are they from?

Me too. The last one was really great!
A Turkish version of Faust.
Avant-shamanism or post-industrial neo-shamanism!!
Well, I guess that may have been a stupid word to use in this context. It's all relative of course. I guess I mean bands/artists who are generally regarded as top tier among the "RIO/avant" audience....
That's a pretty safe list. I'm hoping for some "big" name + some more unknown band that could make for a positive surprise.
CHEER ACCIDENT (USA) >> Seen them once, at RIO. I have three of their...
October purchases, all CDs, all 5€ a piece, from No Man's Land Records:
Ne Zhdali & The Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet - Pollo D'Oro, 1998, Various
Ne Zhdali - Whatever Happens,...
September purchases, all CDs, all bought at the RIO-festival in Carmaux:
Apollonius Abraham Schwarz - Apollonius Abraham Schwarz, 2016, Switzerland
The Artaud Beats - Logos, 2015, United Kingdom...
Yeah, they were really great! Very intense, and fun to watch. Humour and "seriousness" mixed with a very entertaining result.
You didn't miss much, IMO. I left early, but what I saw/heard was...
This years festival has been great, so far, IMO. If it continues like this, it may be one of the best ever.

I'm not telling people what to discuss or not discuss. It's the starter of each thread who does that.

That's what happens all the time. A lot of people just can't stick to the topic. Or they don't read the original post.
This thread is not so bad, actually. Just look at the "best current Italian...
There is a box set in the "Original Album Series" with five of their albums (the essential ones, I think). Bought it a few years ago for $28. Not sure it's still available, but if it is, it's a...
This album never did anything for me. I've had it for many years and tried it now and then, but always found it quite boring. I don't even have it on the CD-shelf any more, but stored away somewhere....
What the heck is SOYCD?

Good luck!
I had to wait seven months for my copy of their last album. Didn't get it before I confronted the idiot that handles their distribution at the RIO-festival. And I didn't even get an...
After I started using Tapatalk I rarely post anything.
It has made me check in on PE several times a day and read a lot more of the threads, but I rarely reply since I don't like typing on the...
Feels like ages since I played this. Time to pick it down from the shelf. Remember it as pretty good.

Since this album is mentioned here, may I take the opportunity to ask if your cd also ends in the middle of a sentence (track 21)?
Maybe it's supposed to be like that? In the track list this...
There's been a lot of boring games in this tournament, but todays games were highly entertaining.
You have to admire the fighting spirit of the Iceland team. I think they deserved to win. They were...
If Shawn Lane counts, he should be high on the list.
He played with Black Oak Arkansas for a while.
What he did later, for example with Jonas Hellborg, is hardly AOR.

Just ordered Pestrottedans. I prefer Koralrevens Klagesang before Astromalist. Both are good, though.
I'm not sure Samla was even included in "progg", except by the lumpers. Much of their lyrics is just nonsence. If there is a political message in there, it's kind of obscure.
I'm not sure I've seen any Swedish Progg mentioned. Certainly not "lots".
Most "progg" was fairly straight forward music (straight rock, blues rock etc.) with political, mostly left wing, lyrics....
After having checked my collection, I have to add:
Berits halsband
Ensemble Nimbus
Jonas Hellborg
Lars Hollmer
Katzen Kapell
Förträngt hushållsarbete
Ur kaos
Lach'n Johnson
Simon Steensland
Samla mammas manna (incl. Von Zamla etc.)

April purchases, all new CDs:
Missus Beastly - Space Guerilla (Germany 1978)
Aphrodite's Child - 666 (Greece 1971)
Robin Taylor - Isle of Black (Denmark 2007)
Thanks!
Only played some of it on the computers built-in speakers so far. Certainly a big difference.
I'll have to burn it to cd and play it on the stereo to know if I find it to be an improvement.
1988
Cheer-Accident - Sever Roots, Tree Dies
Curlew - Live In Berlin
Frank Zappa - Guitar
Miriodor - Miriodor
Rascal Reporters - Happy Accidents
Ut Gret - Time of the Grets (recorded 1988?,...
Great one, but released in 1991, I think.
My favorites for the years in question (at least some of them).
Some of them not mentioned before I think.
1987
Iva Bittova and Pavel Fajt - Bittova & Fajt (might be 1988?, not sure)
Butthole...
This one's got so much praise here at PE. It hasn't really grabbed me the way I expected, according to all the praise. I'll have to spin it again today.
March stuff:
Vinyl:
Jaga Jazzist - Starfire (2015)
Used CDs:
Miriodor - Rencontres (1986)
Miriodor - Miriodor (1988)
Or, to put in another way: We would agree on something. Would that be so wrong?
Then, I guess you are the only one who can answer the eternal question: "What is prog?"
You're the boss!
