I'll pick this up at Newbury tomorrow.
Cleaning up the other day, found a NewEars flyer for a then-upcoming HoG show at the late, lamented Magic Room in Brighton (MA), for 4/16/11. Includes this quote: "Roine Stolt and Hasse Froberg...
That.
One of my favorite acoustic albums.
Got mine on Monday and 1.5 spins in, really digging the new release. The keys...whether electric or acoustic piano, synth or Hammond...brilliant.
The acoustic companion piece to Nomansland - "Sub Rosa-live in Milan" (which I had signed by John), is also well worth seeking out.
He was the guitarist in Steven Wilson's band for a time and also in the John Wetton Band.
Thanks for the heads up MItM! Ordered up!
Doubtful it'll get here tomorrow. Worth waiting for I'm sher.
Really enjoyed them with Benoit when we saw them at FMPM opening for Saga and actually thought Benoit was better than when I saw him with Yes here in town at the Calvin. Very disappointed not to see...
I have been enjoying this album, a bit mellower than my usual fare but I love David's compositions.
I'll pull Gordian Knot's Emergent from the stacks tonight in memorium.
Revisited "Timeslip" the other evening while awaiting the new one. Man, the Hammond work on this smokes.
Have you read this article from the Times? "No, I'm Not Giving Up My Thousands of CDs"

Was it only last February that I saw Nektar at the Iron Horse? Seems like a long time ago...I look forward to watching the show(s) tonight!
Got this email earlier this week, now doubly stoked for some new HoG! Love that this thread is three pages!
"Thank you for your order. Your CD will ship Dec. 10 or shortly thereafter.
Cynthia...
Like I mentioned in another thread, I was fortunate enough to see HoG at MarProg in their home base of CT and became a big fan of their smokin' fusion. Autobuy.
Order Number: #00033
Hey Lou, thanks so much. Hoping to see you and your lovely wife in the Boston area at a show in the upcoming year!
We still have and love our Genesis speakers. Weren't they supposed to not age well? They sound great.
I have this on sweet vinyl. What I really need is the re-recorded "Arthur." Any chance Billy?
Thanks!
Despite the pandemic and the loss of my mom in May...
My first grandchild (Gabriel) was born in October, and my daughter also got married that month! Happy Thanksgiving!
Just ordered up, with a $30 gift card folks at work gave me for becoming a grandfather!
Love the modern Canterbury sound of SH.
Have happily seem them twice. Stellar.
I had gotten this and FoOT iirc in preparation for the Nearfest gig. I was so impressed with the band live I joined the Lilly Pad and have many of their shows on disc. Was thrilled to see the band...
I ordered up from Greg a couple of months ago and all went smoothly.
I'll have to revisit this. I grabbed it after falling in love with FOoT.
I'm still finishing S6! Loved the musical episode.
I love the "There Are Many Sides to the Night" release and the "Hungarian Horizons" DVD.
The recently remastered and expanded Spyglas Guest has a disc of BBC In Concert tracks.
This has been in heavy rotation at Chez Rick since I picked it up weekend before last.
Picked this up Friday. Two spins in...strongest release since Adam and Eve? What a great double disc. Keys more upfront.
I found Cyan to be ok neo but Magenta sparked my appreciation of Mssr. Reed.
Love the Kompendium and Sanctuary albums. Digging the new Magenta. I'm a fan.
This was actually the first Caravan album I owned, having found a used vinyl copy while we were living outside of New Haven in the early '80s, so I have a soft spot for it.

This is some serious shit.
I picked this up from Leo from MoonJune at Nearfest iirc. Time to revisit!
That's what I told her...though admittedly I did notice Mike sounding better than I've heard him ...
Watched the DVD last night and both wife and I dug it big time. When I mentioned how good the harmonies sounded, my wife suggested they had been sweetened.
Yes!
I'm really enjoying getting to know this release. I have even listened to the Jersey tune at least three times and it's still putting a smile on my face. Maybe that's because I'm a Jersey boy.
DV/CD set arrived yesterday . We listened to the show last night and will probably check out the DVD tonight. Audio sounds great and the band sounds a bit more polished than when we saw them in NYC...
Really enjoying the DVD. How did Andy successfully navigate going from "not being able to get arrested in the UK" (iirc from an old issue of the print Belly of the Beast, maybe 20 years ago?)) to...
I need a few more listens, but I think there's at best a couple of minutes of themes repeated from Sola Scritura. gain, a nice continuity.
I'm pleased Neal is doing all the lead vox. He sounds...
Thought there had been a thread about Neal's new "solo" album Sola Gratia but couldn't find it. I picked this up on Friday at Newbury and three spins in, it's a tremendous release! I found all the...
Just got my Big Big Train " Tour That Never Was" shirt, with both dates i had tix for (Mpontreal, Northampton) among the tour dates printed on back. Least I can do to support the band.
...
Whereas I have been buying only the audio formats of the recent live releases as I don't need to see these once-young heroes of my youth turn geezer like me. Too depressing.
When we did the ticket-stub thing a few years back for our 30th wedding anniversary, as i posted at the time we found stubs for Todd and Utopia at the Fine Arts center at Umass Amherst and a King...

The bigger the fan you are, the more you'd pay.
interesting stats from bandcamp about sales of physical product!
Don't know why anyone would pay for ROIOs in this era. There are hundreds on Yes shows on dimeadozen. Gratis. Artwork included.
Want to echo the appreciation for John's labor of love. As others have said, I always looked forward to the next issue's arrival, timely or otherwise.
As are pretty much all of Samurai of Prog releases.
Halfway through "Foundryside" by Robert Jackson Bennett. Had been on my list for past year but pulled the trigger after reading a great review of the second book in the NYT Book Review. Not sure if...
Dime leaks MP3s of legit releases?
Gonna pre-order my signed copy with the free comic!
After finishing Lawhead's Song of Albion trilogy (I find his prose captivating, as I did when I read his Pendragon Cycle, of which I still have Avalon waiting), just enjoyed Poul Anderson's charming...
A little too schlock-rock musical for my tastes.
Thanks anyway. I think one of my first purchases was the Spring release.
I love checking my past purchases and wonder if Ken has records of my purchases from the pre-internet era. If so, would Ken be able to share with my permission via PM? I'd love to see my early '90's...
