^^ Yeah, they do!
I always find it somewhat surprising how many slag "Tales". I guess you had to be a 15 yr. old when listening to it upon release; it seemed to be revealing the secrets of the universe at that time!
I've only listened to "13" a couple of times, but found it very derivative of their early Ozzy records. It was almost like they were trying to use those early songs as a template for the new stuff.
Listening to Mob Rules now. It's a solid album. The criticism is that it follows the template of Heaven and Hell too closely. That wasn't a problem with previous Sabbath records? The first 4 were...
Waiting for Guffman (sp?) is another great one spoofing community theater with pretty much the same ensemble cast.
I think Buck is on every BOC release.
The Symbol Remains is pretty good, their last release. Don't give up on them after Fire of Unknown Origin. Anything with Buck Dharma on it is worth listening to. The new one is apparently old...
I wonder whether Vai will play in Fripp's tuning scheme? I imagine many of Fripp's parts are difficult to play otherwise. Well, they're difficult period, but you know what I mean!
Live at Ronnie Scott's is on Netflix or Prime Video. If you haven't seen it, it's revelatory! He was one of a kind!
Man, I don't know how BOC passed me over. I guess I lost interest in them after Secret Treaties. I've recently been listening to those later records through "The Symbol Remains". A few thoughts:

Totally agree with this. I might even rank Civilian above The Missing Piece. The old GG DNA holds sway, though.
Here's an obscure one: Alice Cooper: "Alley Cats vs. the Jets" lifting a section of West Side Story.
Very nice song, but doesn't remotely sound like Happy the Man.
He and Keith Richards should start a healthy lifestyle company.......
Man, when I was a kid, Genesis was the epitome of weirdness. It looks a little cheesy now, but back then was downright disturbing.
If memory serves, he opened for Rush on the Power Windows or Grace Under Pressure tour. They were doing their best to get him exposure to their audience.
That is some fine guitaring by Skunk Baxter on Show Biz Kids!
The sad thing about Zappa, IMHO, is that his predilection for the "smutty" humor in a lot of his music, detracted from his reputation and consideration as a serious musician. I love that stuff, but...
This says it all.
^^Great idea!
Wow, Renate, sounds like December has been a tough month for you. Hope this year, it's full of hope for the future and good things to come.
Thanks, Richard! .....and to you and yours!
Thanks, Renate! Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas everybody! Here is this year's Christmas tune that my wife and I do every year. She handles the flute on this one. I couldn't think of a cover to do, so I came up with this. Hope...
I also found the WWII doc engaging, although it's a bit lightweight on the history. For example, no mention is made of the USSR's non-aggression pact with Hitler before Barbarosa. We focus on the...
Yeah! Fargo is a huge step up from last season!
Yeah, the German portrayals were caricatured and some stuff was a little unbelievable (Marie's marksmanship!), but it was still a mesmerizing trip back into WWII France.
We just finished "All the Light You Cannot See" on Netflix. As with most book adaptations, the book was better, but IMHO, the series was great, too. The performance by the woman who played Marie...
It's hard for aging rockers and sports figures to put it on the shelf. They always yearn for past glories.
Re: the Bosh Universe.....I have a hard time accepting the guy in the Lincoln Lawyer series as "Mickey Haller", Harry's half brother. Nope.
Loved Hondo!
This made me listen to Real Love and Free as a Bird again. I wonder if Giles Martin could use the new AI tools to enhance John's vocals on Free as a Bird? That song could definitely benefit from...
They did a great job of pulling out and enhancing Lennon's vocal. The song is a mediocre Beatles tune IMHO. I thought the other 2 were more "Beatley".
Very nice, Richard! I love the chord progression and the sounds you get; it builds gradually as you go along with an insistent beat that highlights the story you're telling. Your vocals have sort...
Wow. These guys can play. The vocals? Not my bag. Are there any SGM releases that don't feature the growling?
That's exactly as I see it!
I'm in the middle of Season 3. Agreed that it really got a lot more interesting! The AI awakening with a competing one controlled by some evil government agency. I'm curious to see how it all...
I've been bingeing Person of Interest on Amazon Prime. I love it! Very timely given the rise of AI we're in the middle of.
I've been listening to Goats Heads Soup and It's Only Rock and Roll lately. Boy, those are great albums; I never had warmed up to them much. The run from Sticky Fingers to It's Only Rock and Roll...
I listened to the whole album today. It's great. I can't believe he can still sing like that at his age. His guitar playing and compositional skills are great, too. Highly recommended! I think...
My favorite Maiden is "Piece of Mind". Love them all from Killers through Fear of the Dark.
Surprised no Yuppets have mentioned Keys to Ascension I and II. Also, Sky? I think they had numbered albums. Chicago, too! To be fair none of these were attempts to produce sequels like TAAB II.
That CO/CO State game was way over-hyped, but wow! The end was something.
I hated those books. The translations were just awful.
Colorado was a legit win. Hunter and Sanders are going to be Heisman candidates. That was a great football game. Coach Sanders backs up his talk. I'm glad to see him succeed.
Love that vintage Rhodes sound!
^^ Hey, Bob! Love the organ adds! Seems you completed it before I even sent you the charts. Thanks for taking the time!
Gee, I don't agree with this. Echolyn's "As the World" was not nearly as difficult to assimilate as the groups you mentioned. I believed that the record label thought that Echolyn might appeal to a...
Clivey, the recording is very good and the wah guitar has a little bit of Ozric Tentacles vibe. Me likey!
Thanks, Bob! I'm not on Bandlab, but I can send you a track with the count-in and put together a chart with the chord changes. Would love to hear your adds. I can play about two measures at a time...
Here's a new one with elements of Zep, the Fabs, and CSN. A short rock tune. Again, the artwork was generated by an AI after being fed the lyrical ideas.

Great interview. Unlike some other bands in the genre, these guys kept putting out important music to the very end. Their last album was a great swan song.
I saw Beato's interview with Steve Vai. It was great. The guy actually listens to the interviewee and asks very cogent and insightful questions. One of the best interviews I've ever seen with...
I got through episode 1 of City Primeval and it's not nearly as good as the original. No Walt Goggins/Boyd Crowder equivalent. Really, the original Justified is tough to top. I'll stick with the...
This is pretty much how I feel about it. I had such high expectations and was disappointed with the "lightness" of it. Haven't listened to it in years; I'll have to revisit and see if I'm still...
Yeah! I hate musicals, too. If I saw someone doing that stuff in real life, I'd think they were nuts!
There's also a Wordsworth lift. The bit about "wandering lonely as a cloud".
Yes. I'm glad you liked 'em. Not me! To each his own.
The last two sucked; however everything else in the 2 seasons so far has been great. I'm hoping they get back on track!
They shouldn't let the members of Southern Rock bands ride motorcycles. They should also travel via bus. Maybe cut back a bit on the partying.....
