When we saw Jon's solo tour pre Covid, a lot of the Classic Yes songs were pretty close, but they did change them up a bit, and I liked what they did, especially Starship Trooper was arranged a bit...
It's not unusual for even the top tier bands to have kinks to work out.
We saw it with ARW, the Genesis Rehearsal Video, etc
If people can't freak out over Yes why are we here on this planet?...
I think you make some great points regarding Downes, as I've said I love his keyboard playing, choice of textures most of the time, and love Drama and FFH.
But the fans WANT the classics, to focus...
Sorry it took me so long to check this out Clivey, I've been working on a project.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. It's perfect, and your performance/recording is A+++++
I think this mix is...

Great breakdown on the keyboard players John, and I agree with your assessment of both Oliver and Igor.
Igor is terrific to me on the Live at the House of Blues, and I like the video segments of...
John, your strong understanding of a lot of the controller capabilities, software and hardware synths, etc is a wonderful source of information for all of us.
Thanks for sharing it. It also helps...
Great to hear it was a good show, and a review from someone who actually went to the show and has realistic views when reviewing the show.
Obviously, you are a fan, but neither a fanboy(Yes can do...

I think you're smart in not opening the videos, and I hope all the negativity(mine included) won't damper your evening with Yes.
I like the fact your'e looking at it as a fun night out, and if the...
My apologies Renate, I think I used the wrong term, perhaps dissonant in the one section in the beginning. My lack of musical training perhaps the root of the comment.
If anyone can guess at what I...
When I first heard the short clip of Yearning, I wasn't sure about Berry's vocals, but this official clip, I like everything about it.

I really like this one Clivey. Nice bouncey beat and melody, love the sax buried in reverb.
The synth bass really drives this one along...great work here! thanks for posting it. :)

Thanks Henry.
I have that Circa show, and that Yes medley is fantastic. Jimmy Haun is soooo good, Alan and Tony K were high energy, and Billy's bass playing was non stop full power. Such energy and passion, so...
I think the tour was broken up to half one year and back the next year, but my memory of the time is a bit foggy. lol
Not trying to be misleading, I just count it as one tour, but then again they...
Isn't that what bands do for a tour? they only did one tour.
as many times as I saw Genesis, you could check their setlist for the tour anywhere in the world and it rarely changed for that tour....
I totally agree Steve Howe has earned it, he's put decades of his life, personally, professionally and artistically into Yes, and deserves every right to use the name.
We've talked here many times...
I didn't even try, not interested. I watched part of the warm up video first posted, emphasis on "part".
But it's just how I feel, and if folks still love what is here, that's great. Music and...
Maybe Henry can elaborate, but it was my understanding ARW was meant to be a short term thing, they all have busy projects of their own.
I don't think Roger Water's band had any former Pink Floyd...
I have to admit, I haven't watched any of the recent Paul Green Rock Academy videos that are being posted, simply not interested.

I hear ya, I have the Waldorf VST as well, and out of all the recent synth releases in the last several years, the Hydrasynth is probably the one I'd go for. I love how they have it in 73 key version...
I don't quite agree with the term sub par.
Billy is quite good when Billy does Billy, and I think he is a great bassist. And remember, Chris is the one who asked Billy to take over his bass duties...

I wish I could get excited, but as much as I really like The Quest, and feel Jon D is much better on it.
I just don't enjoy it when they perform live anymore. Jon D, just doesn't work for me on the...
The Band Geek group are AWESOME!
Love the episode where Tom Brislin sat in with them.
That sounds great, I think you would adapt well using modular, and I agree, going hardware modular is a deep deep moneypit.
I agree with Renate, Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular is an excellent...
I think that's so wonderful how you want to honor your dad Renate, and I'm looking forward to listening to it once it's ready for release.

I am so happy you checked out their music, there is so much good music posted by home studio artists here, that unfortunately gets overlooked on this forum(but I understand it).
I agree with your...
I've always loved Tommy Shaw, and I kept help believe his time working with Dennis DeYoung made him a better songwriter. Dennis is and was a master at how to write a song.
I love both of them, and...
The rattlesnake museum? care to elaborate?
Also, I have to ask Hans, were you embellishing in the local herb-ige on said night? your account of the evening reminded me a bit of a Hunter Thompson...
Oh I so agree about the length, and thank you for mentioning that. I think it's one reason a lot of music is overlooked because it takes too long to get into the meat and potatoes, and listeners are...

I was shocked to hear about Dave's passing, he always seemed to be healthy and active whenever I saw videos of him from the NAMM shows. Or his introduction of a new synthesizer.
I believe Dave is...
This is a song I wrote around 2015 after we moved to Florida to be near my 91 year old mother.

So sad about the news about...
here we go again!
agreed...but I don't think some fans will ever let go and accept this. For gosh sake fans are still talking about Gabriel coming back to Genesis.
While I agree with most of your post, may I point out your response could also be considered an overreaction..online dicks..:lol

Lyrics were written by my friend and bandmate, Marvin Cripps.
When I read them, I knew I had to try and...
