Love the marimba work on this one. Excellent and sadly overlooked album.
One of his best albums and his last great one. I don't think the majority of what he did after this comes close.
I don't agree with ProgArchives assessment. I rate Body Love #1 and X higher......
Very sad news. RIP.
RIP Maestro.
A real pioneer!
I can't think of a good reason to go to a "Jethro Tull" gig in 2022...
A timeless masterpiece.
An excellent album that never got the recognition it deserved. The debut from Moxy is another one.
He had a great voice and excellent compositional skills. However he was unlucky in his choice of associates that could push his career forward.
Vangelis "Chariots of Fire" that won him an Oscar,...
This is one of my favourite Oblivion Express albums.
Pleasant listen that gets spinned once in a while but nothing you can't live without...
Rather unknown but a very important contributor to progressive rock in Spain for those who know.
RIP.
They were a great band when they started and in their first couple of albums. For The Dead Travel Fast tried to resurrect their former glory, but the majority of their output since 2014 is a big meh...
This and Floating are my favourites by them...
New Posts mostly.
Great vocalist. A very sad loss...

Early Forrest Fang albums Music From The Blackboard Jungle, Some Brighter Stars & Migration deserve a mention under the context of this thread.
An important musician and composer of the Spanish progressive scene. Apart from his solo works he was among others, member of the bands Om and Jarka, some of you may be familiar with.
RIP and...
The Queen of funk to my ears. RIP.
A fan boy. Not to be taken seriously.
If I would keep a song off them, that will be "Of Once And Future Kings".
Underwhelming to my ears, considering the high bar Jethro Tull set long ago. This sounds like all the low energy tunes that popped up as filler, on their 80s and 90s albums. The reason there are no...
It's not as good as their previous ones. However, still sits on the "to keep" shelf.
It's a pleasant one and a keeper i.m.o.
In case of a classic band like Gong, newest material (that is very derivative of "backwards" listening material) should not be a priority i.m.o.
My personal ranking:
4.5 stars "Rage..."
4 stars "Warning"
3.5 stars "Operation" & "s/t EP"
Everything else, rather forgettable.
Excellent band and one of the few (relatively) modern metal bands I'm closely following.
A heavy rock legend for my ears!
Steve Harris owns his career to him. ;)
A let down. They put a tedious stoner rock influence on this one, resulting in their worst album.
They're very good, especially live.
First (from 1983) and best. Sinister Eyes is a metal anthem. Huge Judas Priest influence through all the recording.
Brilliant band and an autobuy for me. I agree that CD is the way to go. Bands don't buy their records anymore, especially when they aren't touring. Can't see how to sell 500 copies of "Ur". 300 could...
Many times I've tried to think positively about Flower Kings but I failed.
Great slice of Canterbury influenced, teutonic jazz rock.
Terrible news. He was a fine vocalist. Way to young to go...
RIP.
Their first two albums were OK i.m.o. My interest ended with these.
Uninteresting band for the most. Birtha were better.

True.
Best since Painkiller.

Who are 311????
Completely unknown around here. Any recommendations (please no indie/alt. material, as I saw reference to Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, Faith No...
Disco Biscuits were a modernized yet still interesting aspect of the jam sound... The Wind At Four To Fly is a very pleasant album to listen to.
He was important for the development of rock music in Finland. Fine vocalist as well. RIP.
Saw him live ten years ago. He was awesome. Drives and Afro-Desia are great albums.
RIP.
Didn't appreciate at all the "70s" mix. It tries to sound vintage by being very muddy. The end result is that it sounds too artificially fake to be convincing of the atmosphere. The 2021 mix is much...
Drago Mlinarec's band. He had also some very good solo albums in the first part of the 70s.
Nice recommendation here.
From his personal discography:
Paradise Disowned
Heresy
The Monstrous Soul
The Place Where The Black Stars Hang
and also his more sci-fi ventures in space as Arecibo in "Trans Plutonian...
This and "Shine on Brightly" are the best Procol Harum albums to my ears.
Sadly they're on a constant downhill for a long time now...
Some additional recommendations from three rarities of the post industrial scene.

Another very important thing is where exactly the humorous piece is positioned within the whole narration or concept of the work. And Zappa, most times, worked miracles in that aspect.
Ι have a soft spot for this album as it is the first Zappa album I purchased. And got infected.
Top 10 stoner exclusively (no psych/doom/sludge etc.)
COJONES Sunrise
COLOUR HAZE CO2
KYUSS Welcome to sky valley
LOWRIDER Ode to Io
MONSTER MAGNET Spine of God
NIGHTSTALKER The ritual...
Three Mantras, The Voice Of America, Red Mecca and 2x45 are essential listens to anyone wanting to discover how greatly innovative was a part of the 80s.
Awaken the Guardian is one of the few albums that offer the perfect balance between metal and prog.
Best Chicago album. An innovative release.
The last Chicago album of interest to me. I'm a fan of their debut (C.T.A.) but II and III still hold up well (though not essential i.m.o.).
