Indeed, the term "Classical Music" is a good example of a term that is not the most appropriate to define that genre, because it gets confused with the Classical Period, that forms part of it. My...

Thanks. I just want to point out that the focus of this second part is not so much to question the name of the genre, but to support the idea that progressive should be a genre in itself, not a...
Thanks! If you are not acquainted with our earlier albums, I suggest that you go for "Concerto for Piano and Electric Ensemble". We also recorded that album live in the studio and the album features...
Thanks for your comments!
Thanks. You have perfectly summarized what I intended to say. If you don't mind, I would like to quote you on the revised version of the article at Phaedrus Music Journal. Some subscribers may have...
Wow guys. I thought this was a place for discussion and I'm called an ignorant. I have written and released 7 prog rock studio albums. The album "Concerto for Piano and Electric Ensemble" from the...
I hope you enjoy the album.
Hi. Sorry to hear that. I upload the files at higher resolutions. If you want them at 48Khz and 24 bits, send me an email to cplaza@kotebel.com and I will send you a link. Of course, for your...
Great to know. Thanks!
Thanks for your reply. Precisely what I'm trying to do is to promote a debate around this topic. Be aware that I'm not saying that our genre is not related to rock. The point that I'm trying to make...

From Omphalos onwards, all the tracks that we upload to Bandcamp are at 48Khz and 24 bits which is our mastering standard. The older ones are at ordinary CD resolution. Thanks!!
This article takes this discussion a step beyond: https://www.phaedrus.es/is-prog-alive-and-well/
Ahh and, by the way, it is impossible for HDTracks to offer "Cosmology" at true 24bits resolution. Because I hold the masters. I send regular CDs to Musea, which are at 16bits. Unless of course,...
Let me do a simple math here: HD TRacks, pays only 5% for each sale to Musea, who in turn pays me a fraction of the digital sales. So, HDTracks gets almost $18 and I get 40 cents (granted, it's more...
If you really want to help Kotebel, buy the digital albums from https://kotebel-music.bandcamp.com/ you can get them in high resolution format. We don't get a dime from sales done through HDTracks.
aith01, if you liked "Cosmology" I strongly suggest the "Concerto for Piano and Electric Ensemble" and then "Ouroboros" in that order.
:cool
I'm glad to see that Adriana's wonderful miniature that closes the album, is not being totally overlooked. Thanks to all for helping others discover Kotebel's music.
Thanks!
:up:cool
Thanks Bill!! We are hoping to set up a small US tour next year, around August. I will update the forum as soon as it is confirmed. I'm glad that you are enjoying Cosmology. Together with Ouroboros...
Thanks Chris! I hope you consider joining. In the next issue (out August 1st) in addition to the analysis of A Passion Play (part 2), I will publish "The Emperor" which features a cello as soloist...
Playing in the West Coast is something that we have always wanted to do. So it will happen sooner or later ;-)
Thanks Brian! If you want to rediscover classics like Close to the Edge, Supper's Ready, Tarkus, Starless, A Passion Play, then Phaedrus is for you! More than reviews, what we're talking here is...
Quite a bit of mellotron in Cosmology. In fact, on Mishima's Dream there's even a mellotron solo!
A very interesting concert where both bands will be featuring our recently released albums. Discipline with "Captives of the Wine Dark Sea" and Kotebel with "Cosmology". We will play at a venue...
Hi this is Carlos from Plaza from Kotebel. Just to let you know that "Cosmology" is now available. Also, if you happen to be close to Madrid on August 30th, Kotebel and Discipline will be playing...
2016 has brought some major changes in my life. After 30+ years working as a consultant I have decided to dedicate 100% to music. Those who know my work in Kotebel, know that
a) I have been...
Thanks. I hope the album arrived safely.
Thanks! We enjoyed the concert, even when Jaime lost one of his strings before the Coda of the Allegro in the Piano Concerto! BTW, in the recording you can clearly hear the sound of Jaime ripping off...
Hello. Great to be in contact with you through this forum! ProgDay was a wonderful experience for the band! What we played at ProgDay is exactly the same set and arrangements that we played in...
Hello. Kotebel have released their first physical live album. It is a double CD digipack Limited Edition of their concert at the 2013 Prog-Résiste Convention Festival in Belgium. Please note that...
