There are several (inferior) clips from IB Expo 19 on YouTube, for instance this rather lovely chamber music version of A Way Out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUh2p4Yjbp8
Glad to hear you enjoyed the album, aith01! Should you happen to be anywhere near Halmstad, Sweden, on November 23, you should consider going to IB Expo, Isildurs Bane's annual musical gathering,...
Very saddened by this piece of bad news. A great sound engineer.
It won't be recorded for official release, no.
In Amazonia will be performed in full at IB Expo in Halmstad, Sweden, on November 23. Peter Hammill, Karin Nakagawa and Isildurs Bane will perform it augmented by harpist Stina Hellberg Aback and...
Here's footage from the first performance, from the Gouveia Art Rock festival. Just one basic camera and pretty shitty sound that doesn't do the music justice, but if you're really interested, you...
Yes, the more dramatic effects on the vocals were added at the mixing stage by Charles Storm.
...and here's some footage of PH's "Patient" with IB at the Gouveia Art Rock festival:

One of the finest writers about music, ever, Richard Williams, posted very favourable comments about In Amazonia on his blog....

Thursday and Friday were spent intensely rehearsing music at IB HQ in Halmstad, Sweden, for the first live performance of In Amazonia. On IB's FB page you will find a bunch of pictures from the...
As thedunno mentioned above, the IB & PH album, In Amazonia, will be released in May. During the first weekend of that merry month, IB & PH will perform the album live at the Gouveia Art Rock...
Bought this as soon as I heard about this box set. Looking forward to hearing this!
The first Esquire album wasn't really my cup of tea, but on a related note, I can highly recommend both of Steve Topping's solo albums to anybody you enjoys the music of Allan Holdsworth, John...
Very glad to see that people seem to look forward to this release. There will be more news within a week or two. Or something like that.
Expect more news about the forthcoming IB & PH album on IB's FB page.
Don't want to nit pick, but Isildurs Bane formed in 1976. You are right about them not being Neo Prog though.
I am happy to join the list of people praising Hedvig Mollestad Trio. I consider myself lucky to have seen the band on several occasions and recommend catching this fierce group live even if it means...
Great, tasty guitar player!
Got the X/Ten CD and it's well worth getting. Fine performances that differ from the studio album. For me, "The Descent" was incredibly moving on From the Trees, but in this version it's even starker...
Anything featuring Mats Gustafsson is worth looking into. He rarely disappoints.
Nik Bärtsch is an incredible musicians and his band are absolutely fantastic!
On November 24, the annual IB Expo will take place in Halmstad, Sweden. As always, it will be a musical picnic with the musicians helping each other out on their songs.

I had the pleasure of hearing (the new) Flairck at the wonderful Gouveia Art Rock festival in May this year. Great group, brilliant musicianship, fine compositions and an outgoing performance with a...
Wow, didn't see that coming. Very exciting band!
Yes, those other sides would be nice to have. I guess it's the vinyl set I will have to buy then.
Arve Henriksen, my favourite trumpet player, period.

[QUOTE=flytomars;780789]There were 2 drummers originally, so the "main" drummer from Fire! Is still there.
Actually, the first edition of Fire! Orchestra had four drummers. The next version had...
Let me know what you think of the remastered version if you buy it. The remaster was done by IB's sound engineer Jan Severinsson.
Thanks for starting this thread. I'd forgotten about this album and haven't seen it since... way back, possibly in a second hand record shop in the late 80's. Didn't buy it then, but bought it on...
The first version of The Voyage was the Brown suitcase, the black suitcase was the second one, both folded and put together by the band themselves. Then came the 1-CD digipak edition, which went OOP...
Compared to those albums, especially the first two you mention, The Voyage is a different musical trip altogether. In parts more intense and long, but then again, there are the low key Picassiette...
Isildurs Bane's 1992 album The Voyage - A trip to elsewhere, was re-released yesterday (Feb. 9). Having been OOP for many years, the album has been remastered and features new artwork by Matti...
I agree that Fire! Orchestra is an amazing band with fantastic musicians on record. Live, they *really* take off. Since they are a big group (14 in this incarnation), they are expensive to book, so...
There are quite a few reviews of the h & IB album out there, and if you have Spotify, you can stream it here: https://open.spotify.com/album/6x1rzcjPpq7bYuW79MvTae

Thank you!
Yes, Greg sells IB's albums, as does Ken Golden (Laser's Edge).
Very sorry to see Aranis split up. I was fortunate enough to hear them live a few times, all great memories.
Regarding financial support for the arts, I am all for it, being very familiar with the...
So far, the only IB date for 2018 is with Steve Hogarth & Richard Barbieri at Night of the Prog in Germany on July 15. It will be quite a gig!
Thank you all for your thoughts on Off the Radar. The IB wish you all a Happy new 2018! Hope to see some of you at Night of the Prog on July 15.

Here's a review of said album: http://theprogressiveaspect.net/blog/2017/12/17/isildurs-bane-off-the-radar/
Kudos to Charlie Storm, who mixed the album amazingly well.
It is indeed music that shows IB's ability to vary themselves. Don't expect songs in the traditional sense.
...and that will be fairly soon. Hope you will be able to get it before Christmas!
IB just did their annual music gathering, IB Expo, which featured Peter Hammill and Tim Bowness, but also the amazing koto player Karin Nakagawa. Among the music played was a piece composed by IB's...
Isildurs Bane release a new album today, December 1st, called Off the Radar. It's an instrumental album, primarily based on keyboards old and new (form ARP, Moog and Mellotron to software) with quite...
The new, instrumental IB album, Off the Radar, will be released on December 1st. There will be a pre-release at IB Expo, which will feature Peter Hammill, Tim Bowness and koto player Karin Nakagawa...
Laser's Edge should have it.
What colour is it?
His brand new album, Variety of Rhythm, is amazing. Features (among others) David Torn, Dick Lövgren (bass, Meshuggah), Katrine Amsler (keyboards, Isildurs Bane & Television Pickup) and Liesbeth...
Such a fine guitarist and - from my brief encounter with him in 2004 - really nice man. We are lucky that his music remains with us.
For now, the live footage will probably only be on YouTube. No edition of a DVD planned at this point.
Here's live footage of IB & H performing all of their collaborative album Colours Not Found in Nature.
