My CD arrived today. Thank you for putting this out, Steve.:cool
Looks like they're playing Big Ears next year: https://bigearsfestival.org/
I'm loving the new The Holy Family
Interesting that David Smith decided to step out from behind the kit and bring in another drummer. The drumming isn't lacking at all by this change
This is great. Would love to see them live again.
For fans of Squid, Gilla Band, Black Midi:

Ahh yeah that was what I was thinking of. For some reason I thought there were more shows.
The proghouse gig was great though
They did do a short tour a few years ago over here. No way it came close to breaking even though.

I was real happy to see them on the lineup. Their debut album is one of my favorites released this year.
In past years I've paid around $800 for 5 nights at the Hilton downtown. This years it's looking like $1900 at the Embassy on Gay St. Insane...
Wife and I flew into Vegas also for the festival. Emperor, Wand, and Holy Wave were great yesterday. Looking forward to Boris, Primitive Man, and The Black Angels today! Resorts World is nice too.
You didn't ask for breakfast, but our favorite spot is Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen on Franklin St in Chapel Hill
Favorite 30 so far. Rough order..

Yep. A Chinese media conglomerate that develops music streaming services with Spotify... :(
Hah. Whoops my bad
I love everything Narkopop and earlier, but couldn’t get past the high-pitched tinnitus like beep every few seconds. It’s too distracting. Rausch also had a similar beep, although less frequent. ...
Great year for new music. These are my favorites:
Black Country, New Road - For The First Time
Squid - Bright Green Field
Fire! - Defeat
JÜ - III
Suuns - The Witness
Steve Gunn - Other You...
New Deerhoof album is excellent

Pretty stoked. Will be my fourth Big Ears. It’s aways a great time!!
They were originally planning on touring the album before Neil passed, but were asked to play on the Slayer farewell tour so had to postpone it a bit. They played part of Cygnus X-1 on the Slayer...

I got mine from the Rough Trade UK webshop
Damn, I saw this thread was bumped and was hoping there was news about new music :)
New album out today:

This one is really good too. Been trying to find a copy on vinyl but my local store isn't able to get it in.
The first four Tortoise albums and Slint's Spiderland are essential post-rock listening.

I can understand streaming it for people unable to attend. But I don't think there would be much interest sitting at Storybook Farm in the heat watching a band on the big screen that was playing in...
I agree, was thinking the same. ALLELUJAH! DON'T BEND! ASCEND! comes close.
They have a new album that was released on Friday. I can't stop listening to it.

Looking forward to it. Schlagenheim was very good, and live was even better.
They're including a flexi disc with a cover song with the album depending on where you buy it:
Where did they say it was coming out this year? Can’t wait to see it.
Qobuz has this one and the new Fire! album in hi res lossless for those into that. I grabbed both from there while I wait for the vinyl to arrive from Rune Grammofon.
Oh yes. That was one of my favorite sets that year.
I miss Big Ears..hopefully they’ll be able to have it again in 2022
Nice! That one doesn't get much attention like Treetop Drive and Morals and Dogma, but I've always loved it.
I wish they would release a digital or CD version of the Dark Transit EP so I didn't...
Awesome! Thanks Marco.
Thanks for the early thoughts John. That makes me more excited to hear it. I pre-ordered the vinyl for this one and the new Fire! album from Rune Grammofon over the weekend.
Have they...
