Short wishlist this time. I had Elephant9 on there, but needed Paypal (why?) and I hadn’t updated my Mastercard on PP. Next round maybe.

Does anyone know what happened to the Bandcamp version of this album? It’s still in my wishlist on mobile, listenable, but not on PC and if I try to share the one on mobile to a browser, it’s a dead...

I don’t think he cares about people who think that.
They have announced Bandcamp Fridays for 2024:

Maybe someone could update the topic title? We’re a bit past 2022 now and this...

Lumsk - Fremmede Toner

Interesting observation. I like Dissolution, but the other albums with Harrison are imo. inferior to their earlier and more fast-paced stuff.
Ian’s flute and Opeth is not a combination I would have thought of, but their later albums shifted into a sound where it can work. Remains to be heard what sound they are going for on the album, but...
I was just thinking about that a week ago after hearing some female vocals in French. It’s such a joy to hear and I went looking for music that fit the bill.
“Pardon my French”
“Oh, I speak...
I haven’t heard their last album, but I also prefer their earlier works and have listened to them quite a lot back at the time where I listened a lot to Porcupine Tree.
Versions of The Truth from...
The Songs & Tales of Airoea – Bo.ok III by The Chronicles of Father Robin
All Thoughts Fly by Anna von Hausswolff
Live at Montreux Jazz Festival by Anna von Hausswolff
Wall Of Eyes by The Smile...
Nice to see that they keep up with BCF, but is the difference less than before? It may be years since I first learned about BCF, but to my memory the difference was larger than going from 82% to 93%....
I never trust carts on websites to keep anything, unless you can save them. I add albums I'm interested in to my BC wishlist and go through that list on BC Fridays.
New release from The Smile, the band of Thom Yorke, guitarist Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) and drummer Tom Skinner (Sons of Kemet).
Eight tracks, 45 minutes.

For the general population I think that may be the anamoly, but on forums like this it's far more common. I do the same as you. An album is like a movie to me and I wouldn't watch only 10% of a movie...
I’m all for it. Usually I prefer albums not extending much past 60 minutes. Albums at 45-50 minutes are perfect, but it all on the music too. Some music works better in a longer format than other,...
I missed this album somehow, but it’s brilliant! The first half made me think of Damanek, then it went all kinds of directions.
Anna Von Hausswolf is working on a new album that we may see this year.
Mikael said they will record a new album this year.

It’s explained here: https://www.progressiveears.org/forum/showthread.php/26494-How-to-embed-BANDCAMP-Albums-In-Your-PE-Posts
I had that feeling with Neal Morse’s Similitude of A Dream. I like the idea of an overture introducing themes and sounds that will be used in an album, but if they are repeated too much, it feels...
I’ve found a lot of great albums this year. The problem with these topics is that I find a bunch of new albums through your lists and my list won’t be ready for half a year.
His voice got a bit rough on the later songs I thought, but I don’t know if that was related to age, health or strain.
The album is out on Bandcamp and Spotify.
Great to hear PT live again. It's been quite a time since hearing them live, both on an album and in person.

It's more toned down for sure. I haven't caught the middle parts yet, but taken notice of the first and last songs. Starting with Kyrie Eleison and finishing with the most uptempo and fun track.

Out now on Bandcamp. Will check it out today.
Bees, wasps, flies or anything of that sort of buzzing sound. I get more than at home in summer and the flies drives me nuts. I do not need those sounds in my music. Fortunately not too commonly...
VÄLVĒ - Tiny Pilots
Ozric Tentacles - Lotus Unfolding
Rascal Reporters - The Strainge Case of Steve
The Chronicles of Father Robin - The Songs & Tales of Airoea – Book II

Incredible how difficult it is to order something in 2023.

Never knew Soord had solo efforts, but I'll have to check them out. I've listened a ton to The Pineapple Thief, they're really good.
I struggle to pick favorites for any artists, but those that...
Book one certainly has me waiting for more. Release on December 8, so maybe we won't get the third and last book until next year.
Nice! I’ve listened quite a lot to Seasons. It’s a really fun album.
That would be quite the switch. Steven has always been a fan of artwork and physical media. TFB was heavily themed and they put a lot of effort (and money?) into how it was advertised. The surely had...
By gradually moving away from the sound of PT, his earlier solo works and generally the “prog” sound from TTB, through TFB and into THC, maybe enough people that listened to his older albums fell off...
The new album by Jordsjø released last week:

A month goes by so quickly. I got some ready on the wishlist.
After two runs I’m not able to decide. It has some cool tracks and I like the overall sound better than TFB, but also some in the first and middle parts that made me remain whelmed. Several tracks...
I haven’t seen this artist mentioned here before and search engines provided no results either.
This is a pretty special piece of work, both the music and the backstory. It’s more rap than rock,...
Closest I could find was a comment from Andreas on Facebook when someone asked the same question:
They also commented on this on the Father Robin FB page:
The special edition vinyl box has...
Yeah, very proggy-prog. I still enjoy this, but find that it's lost some of the appeal it had when I first discovered Wobbler. I had some of the same thoughts after listening to Frøislie's solo...
Maybe it was. He still has to make money, so PT may be a nice thing to have in backup if needed, and lets him explore other directions solo.
The Songs & Tales of Airoea – Book 1 by The Chronicles of Father Robin released today.

Black Classical Music is superb. They kept me interested from start to finish.
Same here. I always listen to entire albums and don’t think I would be doing myself any favors by listening to these individual tracks out of context.
The BC site is also live now. October 6.
I’m holding off until the release.

Oh, it’s August already. I got a bunch lined up, so thanks for the HU!
Love this album and the band. It’s become one of those bands that just won’t go out of my rotation. I always find time for some Needlepoint now and then.
Thanks, I hate it.
I’d prefer if he made new music and let the old music be itself, but nobody is forcing me to listen so it’s fine.
I’m always expecting good things from Steven. The setting they experienced it in is quite different to what most of us will have, and I have no doubt it enhanced the expeience significantly. In the...
Cheers. I’ll have to listen through the album. Big Big Train came to mind on some spot checks, which isn’t an accolade I believe many would turn down.
Just found this one and liking it!
Yes. Part of the show on his Harmony Tour will be Steven wrestling with Chris.
I’d be surprised if there wasn’t some big box edition with extra material as Steven loves that stuff, but you’re not required to buy the most expensive version.
I don’t have a surround setup,...
Wow, thanks! Ten years after Kveikur, the last album.
Indeed:

I’m hearing a lot of things in there. The Deer Hunter and QOTSA came to mind om the first tracks.
Not a lot of prog that need this foonote. 😄
Sounds promising.
This was indeed the last until August:

I didn't buy it, but I added it to the cart just fine. https://monikaroscher.bandcamp.com/album/witchy-activities-and-the-maple-death-album. What do you have problem with?
Some old some new today....
