And 100% agreed...it's an amazing film. Never thought I'd be telling random people to go see a Godzilla movie but....here we are :)
Typically the Toho Godzilla films make a limited showing in the North American theaters; I saw the prior film Shin Gojira in a theater when it came out. But to your point, typically those are VERY...
It's not strictly competition...Toho licensed the character to Legendary so they're going to get a cut of the Godzilla v. Kong profits too. But I think even they were a little caught off guard by...
Not to be that guy, but I'll be that guy for once...see my post above. It didn't leave because of dwindling sales, Toho had to pull it prematurely :)
WOW :lol :lol :lol
Sure is!

Based on a quick check, this indeed works with the current player :up
Re: Godzilla Minus One not playing anywhere. That's not an accident, but the reason is kind of annoying. Toho HAD to pull the films because they have an agreement with Legendary to not to compete...
Right?? I just had a big ol' grin on my face the whole time it played :D
Oooooh, coolness! Always happy to peek at a new free library :lol
Speaking of RMI and other oldie goodies, check this out :horns

Not quite concept album but probably along the same lines, Pretty Things "SF Sorrow" pops up a fair bit.

As to the more nebulous "album with a theme...
Yeah...while there aren't usually rules that say "no one is allowed in after the performance starts," the reality is that quite a few shows hit capacity and are in "1 out/in" mode before a...
You'll definitely want to wear comfy shoes :lol It's very spread out, and downtown Knoxville isn't flat.
^^ Cool....he's got some great stuff happening these days between his own stuff and work with SAW (I heard threats about more output from Loom as well, but it's been a minute so who knows). Happy...
My interest is roughly the same as yours, but I DO admit that I'm proud to live in a world where Arnold Schwarzenegger actually said "and the Oscar goes to Godzilla" :lol :lol :lol
Hey, sorry I meant to respond sooner.
So about a year or so ago Schmoelling ended Viktoriapark as a full operation label; instead, distribution for all his albums is now handled by MiG: ...
Oh yeah! I do dig the two SAW albums too :)
Very awesome, dude! Still enjoying Inner Cosmos :)
OMG YOU LEFT OUT WHITE OUT DIVIDE BY ZERO DOES NOT COMPUTE REBOOTING
:lol:lol
You're right, I'd swap White Out with Diary but otherwise that's a pretty excellent subset :)
Cool! One that I kind of dug from Behind Closed Doors was the one he did with Harald Grosskopf.
The latest Baumann "Machines of Desire" was actually pretty darn good too.
So here are two...
I am guessing Cygnus is interested in physical media based on the collection they shared, so I didn't include some of the digital-only stuff (like TQ's really excellent Behind Closed Doors series...
Yep, got 'em all and they're all pretty good to terrific. If memory serves, Important Records did a box with all three plus a bonus live album :up
Awesome, Pat :)
Also, just since we slightly let things peter out here, there's a pretty good "what's good with TD?" thread on the main page that might have a few good 'uns for you :)
Sweet...my personal fave of his is Avanti :up
Saw that! Thought it was kind of cool :)
This made me very, very, very happy :up
Hey Pat (et al)! For me personally: I like bending my DAW to my will, rather than the other way around :) It's still early and pre-coffee for me but I'm just going to rattle off some things.
...
I'm pretty sure there will be one very emphatic vote for Firestarter as well ;)
IF you can find copies (or are OK with digital), both the Virgin box sets have some excellent delights for big...
Looks like a pretty solid set thus far.
I personally would add Underwater Sunlight (1986) and The Park is Mine (1985?). Risky Business is great too, even if half the album isn't TD.
If...
Lawyers, etc: "OMG Jon Anderson is referencing a Yes album he had nothing to do with, fans could get confused and believe that Jon was behind Heaven and Earth!!!"
Steve Howe:...
In my case, a DAW was a necessity as I didn't quite have access to much old school tech, and certainly didn't have the space for it in my little rental apartments! That also fueled some of the MIDI...
Nice! I used to use MIDI keyboard mappings in Cakewalk Sonar. I set it up so that one of my momentary pedals output a CC that was kind of like a "shift" so that if I held down the pedal and played...
:horns:lol:horns
I'm sure it could, provided that data was already available as a reference in their model(s).
As an IT professional, I find the technology fascinating. Particularly with regards to it's use in...
Definitely :)
Shudder stuff this weekend:
Suitable Flesh: like some long-lost Full Moon Entertainment video rental or late night Showtime flick. Heather Graham has aged like fine wine. Aspires to be a...
Services like this are simply casting a wide net, hoping that they catch new/aspiring artists who have dreams of becoming a "success" and see services like theirs as an easy way to cultivate/grow an...
Never a shortage of folks looking to make a buck on the backs of someone else's work :lol
Agreed...I thought it was a very funny edit and knew immediately who he was talking about (not that I'm some hardcore insider at all, just that I'd read enough bits along the way about some...
Shadowfax? Went from prog fusion to new age, won a Grammy for the offense :lol
Oh snap...that reminds me: Journey
Oh, I like some of those 80's Chicago pop tunes too (I slightly prefer the ones that came on the albums immediately after Cetera left)...just that they DID change considerably to chase the commercial...
Sounds great Renate!! Thanks as ever for sharing :)
Gotta be careful with words like "unanimous" ;)
Cured has Air Conditioned Nightmare, which is pretty fun. I suspect Blues with a Feeling and (maybe) Til We Have Faces are ranked lower.
Two...
They made the Best Metal on Bandcamp February 2024 list :horns

ItHS feels like an album that was only about 30% through the writing process when someone said "good enough, get that sucker on the shelves pronto" I somewhat feel the same way about Heaven & Earth...
Enjoying my first listen right now. Of course it sounds wonderful :) Only had time to glance at the video a bit but it looked terrific too. Congrats on yet another terrific job!!
FWIW lots of musicians can do more than one project at a time. No indication on the GH website that he's no longer involved. Even when he was on PE, he wasn't typically the one driving the PR stuff...
Definitely a rarity among the prog giants we all know and love ;)
YOU'RE DEAD TO ME, FRENCH VOLARE BOY
:lol :lol :lol :lol
It's all good and of course I get where you're coming from :) I've got my biases too, some of them are less aligned with the proggie...
NO CAPE NO PROG
Actually...early on I passed over Stormy Six because I preferred music with keyboards. Which was of course silly and when I finally got L'apprendista, I loved it.
Amen, brotha :horns
Anyhoo...tangent aside and pun 100% intended, IMHO gear from every era yielded superb results in the right hands. Conversely, dreck doesn't get a pass just because it features...
I really like Iter Meum too. But Wuivend Riet and White Out are desert island picks for me :)
Blue Dawn is really great...I also like Wadephul's "When Aliens Meet a Drop of Water"
The...
+1
Let's be honest, most of us who like Italian prog are going to own most/all of those :lol
I definitely dig the 70's albums (I favor Rubycon slightly ahead of Phaedra) but man do I love the Schmoelling and Haslinger eras. The band's come back around and is doing interesting stuff again...
It's easily in my top 10 TD albums :)
Some of my all-time favorite albums were largely done on those "cheesy" 80's synths and there's not a single note or sound I'd change. Loved 'em then, still love 'em now :)
As much as I love my...
I scored a Fender Rhodes 73 and a Korg CX-3 from a guy @ a studio while doing a session thing (he let me have both for $150 provided I didn't ask him to help me move them :lol ). The Rhodes thrilled...
It wouldn't surprise me if this was being driven more by InsideOut than Yes themselves, although I'm sure the band is willing to play ball and promote it.
I am one of those crazy folks who...
I don't enjoy his more recent solo work as much, but welcome anything old, new or new/old from Bass Communion. And this was a lovely treat :up
