Steve, are you still looking to do live performances of Trustworks with Moon Safari? Difficult, I know as you both have very many demands on your valuable time.
Exactly right! :up
That's interesting. Do you have any links for that?
I know your secret! ;)
I'm booked for my first Cruise. I can't wait.
That is still on going. Johan Westerlund was laying down bass tracks the other day.
;)
Re live v studio versions: I actually think the live version of "the other half of the sky" is better than the studio one on "Blomljud". I also prefer the live "crossed the rubicon".
The band...
I'm not a fan of labels. All their music is progressive. "Blomljud" is the most overtly symphonic progressive release they have made. All their albums are great. Fantastic band!
I would agree with Talliman although I guess it depends on taste. If you're looking for the proggier side, start with "Blomljud".
Why not stick the whole trilogy version on the album after "Rubicon"?
I think the original version flows perfectly into "Kid" so I wouldn't change that.
"Sarah Jane" was written by Tony. "Man on the corner" was written by Phil.
TB, MR, PC on BBC Radio 1 breakfast show on Friday 3 October.
Careful that snare drum doesn't go missing:lol
A bit of a lost classic. There is a BBC live recording somewhere in the ether.
Well no one is unique but a great band though!
From what I can see from Steve's Facebook posts, The Syn project with Moon Safari is still alive.
An old thread I know ... but to go back to George: has anyone heard his recent solo singles? I have heard them several times and still cannot get my head around what I'm hearing ... I kid thee not...
Saw this at Bradford Uni athough Phil wasn't drumming.
Ah but none of these bands have played the Shay Stadium, Halifax ... :-)
I need to listen. They clearly have a lot of active admirers on another website (no names, no pack drill).
I am going to give this a listen over the next few days.
Moon Safari named for Baja Prog.
Here's a video.

Well worth a listen.
To quote their profile:
"Levty Progre is a Band with Prog Rock genre from Indonesia.
This Band formed not so long (october 2012) and...
Maltby was great. Bilston was even better! I can say no more than that.
It's a great album, possessing strong musical confidence whilst often showcasing lyrically self doubt and human frailty.
You forgot the Weather Report part! :)
Forgotten son?
If you try their website, many of their stuff can now be downloaded direct from there.
That pretty much says it all for me too. Oh, they are also really nice people too!
So to sound like I'm interrogating you :-) but ...
if it's one year does that mean the older bonus tracks can now be released digitally?
I'm guessing there will be an extra track on the Japanese issue?
I'd be more interested in this: http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/1572967/new-steely-dan-album-its-in-the-air
Order in already! Roll on August 21!
Obviously, it's hard to tell from the short clips so apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree, but is "My Little Man" a Pontus song?
Believe me, they'd give it a go! :-)
I have honestly never come across a band like MS before. I get the impression that they can make great music in virtually any genre.
Great teaser and a second, very different teaser, now on Facebook. Maltby is a great venue and I am also Bilston bound! Happy days ahead!
I remember Tony Banks saying at the time that he considered "The lady lies" as the end of the album and FYFM as a kind of postscript to the album.
"Undertow" is just so beautiful. I wonder how it would have been with "From the undertow" part that was used on "ACF" added. For the elitists amongst us, probably the difference between being prog...
Steve Hackett Bradford 1979
Snowbound: Genesis/Donald Fagen
I saw him supporting Pendragon and the material he played hinted at a strong solo album. He is also in Clive Nolan's "Alchemy".
Further news as we speak: "
It with very mixed emotions that we closed another chapter in our long and varied history last night at the Barbican in London . It was a very special night and we would...
Andy is not going to be involved in the future. This was announced recently - see the band's Facebook page.
I've been a fan since "Haitian Divorce" hit the UK charts. Truly original and virtually uncategorisable, if that is indeed a word.
