I saw Dickie solo mid 70's.. forget who he opened for either Foreigner or Kansas.. Great guitarist..
That is covered extensively in this interview.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbQM09t5E2c

Great interview Sean.. I'm one of those who watched that What's happening episode as well.. the live performance of the band still sticks in my head. I gotta go look that up on Youtube.
Same as this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDfhBn0Gw_4

I have several ROIO from this tour.. Orlando as I recall was well recorded and the band were on fire that night.

Anyone else notice the use of album artwork (that Jon had nothing to do with) in this promotional video?

The market responded favorably to the 3 albums prior to Calling All Stations.. The band made a mint during that time period.. what's the problem?

Bruford has spoken about Howe Levin and himself jamming..
Bruford covered this in his book.
Started this before Christmas then put it down to read two other books I got as gifts. Just picked it back up this week. The Master of Space and Time's Journey Through Rock & Roll History Leon...
I obviously missed this thread when it was posted in '17. It just popped up on my Youtube feed. Looking forward to viewing it today. I only visited one Tower Records location in D.C. We had a Peaches...

He's done a version of Wish You Were Here album that's sounds really good.. not sure exactly how he's doing what he's doing.. splicing in alternative live versions with studio outtakes?

Obviously not an official Roger editing but with that said it's an interesting take on this release. He butchers a few songs by eliminating lyrics.....
Anyone else read this book? I got it for Christmas and finished reading it last night.. I knew bits and pieces of Mal's story from various other books I've read over the years.. but I couldn't help...
This one has been discussed before.. Jimmy Carl Black interview.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BnjWonHSgc&list=PLAD22C18F3EB18EB0
Listening to a recording this weekend from UK's first tour "Alaska by Night" which has two shows on it.. for all the talk from Eddie of not wanting Holdsworth to improvise there sure is a lot of...
Looks interesting.. thanks for posting
I'm not a big fan of "group think"..

I agree... I don't get the hate for this release..

Just listened to "side one" from this album and to my ears it's brilliant... Obviously it won't appeal to everyone...
Klaatu's second album Hope would be a good candidate.. the alternate version on Sunset has the full London Symphony Orchestra which most of had been left out of the version released in 1977.

He infused the band with a youthful energy for sure...

I beg to differ.. based on the Tales medley and TOTC clips from this tour I'd say To Be Over is beyond their reach at this point. Re: has To Be Over been played since '75? Howe has done a solo...
If they are going to drop anything from the set it should be the Tales bit.. it's a cluster F...
Agree.. I mentioned on the Youtube clip I saw I'm sure glad they didn't pull Relayer out for this...
Ahh.. Right you are.. " This concert was at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, on July 17, 1976."
If there was someone filming that day who shot footage of Gary's set.. has any of Yes' performance surfaced from the same show? (around the 2:30 mark you see the laser light set up above his head)...
Have you listened to the Tales Medley yet Henry? "Parts" of the Remembering are pretty tight.. however IMHO on the whole the transitions throughout the medley are clunky at best.. Leaves of Green is...
Yeah I was under the impression that at least one selection would have showed up on this setlist..

Tales bit...
Agree.. my favorite from Rick
Nice setlist.. When's the last time they left out a selection from CTTE?
Steve did a medley years ago on a solo tour.. I believe it ended up on "Not Necessarily Acoustic" album

I've seen the extras that were included with the DVD of the movie where Roger says something to the effect of "It didn't turn out exactly like I would have liked to have seen it.." going on to add...
You have to take into consideration Rogers "original" idea for this project included a stage show, album and movie.. every part is integral to his vision...
Premires at 10am in my time zone.. edit.. that was nice.. good to hear Trevor having fun..
I have yet to hear one note from the album Alan did with Levin and Torn.. but several interviews I've read where Levin touts his performance as brilliant.

Interesting... the only tour I saw with Rabin was BG and the band appeared to me to be having a hoot on stage.. plenty of Squire/Rabin interaction. Admittedly Kaye looked a bit lonely over on his...
Moraz as well
Bruford speaks fondly of Howe Levin and himself jamming together and coming up with some interesting material. (Kind of like Moraz speaking of jamming with Squire and White) Not sure if any of it has...
I guess this just shows what the future holds for Yes' catalog. Henry mentioned this in another post some time ago.. new "owners" of their catalog will want to get a ROI

Sounds like Trevor's signature sound to my ears..
Of course this track originally had spoken words (The Mortality Sequence) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRAdhApvhEw
Agree..
Greensboro is the closest venue for me.. 3 hrs. I've done that drive several times over the years for Yes Paul McCartney and Roger Waters. I gotta see the setlist before I decide.
Back in "my" day when you went into a record shop (mid 70's) you were likely to find a pretty well stocked catalog of the bands I listened to. If not you went over to the JEMS import bin to find...

Somehow, I missed this release.. Amazon says 2013. Terry Kath has always been a very underrated guitarist. He smokes on this solo..
I would add Heartbreaker and Mean Mistreater as songs I heard on the radio as a teenager..
Many examples of bands touring material before it was released.. Pink Floyd, Genesis, ELP the list goes on and on..
I had some time in my car today running errands so I played Mirror then Quest back to back.. I know I'm not the only one but I simply can't accept that Jon was the best choice as a singer/songwriter...
I simply copied and pasted from a comment someone posted on a Yes related FB page..
