Now it will have a different meaning when police say, "Move it along!"
I liked about half of Pompei, mostly due to Curt Cress' drumming.
That was a pleaure to watch. Thanks for posting!
Sorry I won't be there, Rick. I'm having two kidney stones removed that day.
Its been too long since I went to the Regent! (Great venue)
I like Sade, but the words "Rock and Roll" never crossed my mind when listening.
I turned 3 years old that day. I thought my older brothers were jumping about and excited for my birthday.
I noticed that Lake started sliding down off sustained notes at the end of almost every line on this album.
His voice was still strong although he was moving toward lower registers.
Zay Flowers should get the game MVP for the Chiefs.

Along those lines, I came home around 3am and the power was out in my neighborhood. There had been a snowstorm the day before,
so everything was blanketed in white. There was a...
Few things are as heartwarming as seeing children sing their hearts out, but I'm not crazy about it on recordings.
Felix Pappalardi (Mountain)

Add Yngwie Malmsteen to the list as well.
"Whatever else you may think of him, the guy can definitely play."
I also remember him saying that he corresponded with Tipper Gore...

I saw them opening for another 90s prog group in the Boston area a long time ago.
I found it to be mostly 3-chord rock progressions, but with more...
Got my copy, and the tempo is A LOT SLOWER. It will take some time to get used to it.
On the plus side, I'm hearing some drums and bass parts that I hadn't noticed before.
I will still refer to...
I watched it once on a VHS tape years ago, and I remember being particularly frustrated during "Wait". They showed Chris Rainbow
slapping rhythmically at his keyboard instead of Ton Scherpenzeel...
Its now on Channel 308.

...not to mention that his poll took place "ten days prior" to the band's press release.
WOW! That was some quick response from the band!
So *this* is the guy who will reunite Anderson and Howe,...
Thanks, Ian!
I've never been a FaceBook person.
I notice that Chris (GuitarGeek) hasn't posted in a month; has anyone seen him elsewhere?
War- Low Rider always works for me.

Agreed about Monty Python not being a sitcom, but I think Fawlty Towers would qualify.
King Diamond did Abigail II: The Revenge.
I haven't listened to it in many years, but anything after the amazing run of Abigail-Them-Conspiracy
would pale in comparison. IMO
I saw the show at Nearfest and enjoyed the show but for the life of me I can't remember if there were two keyboardists! I ordered this and the rest of my DVD Haul from Greg Walker but don't have them...

How was this DVD? Was it the same line-up as NEARFest with two keyboardists (one doubling on violin)?...

I just had a flashback to playing Little League baseball; it seemed that the teams were always sponsored by
wherever the "coach" worked (restaurants, auto-body shops, and yes,...
Thanks for posting. I didn't know about the band having "understudies".
The article mentions Phil Ehart's drum tech being his understudy, but I wonder who covers for the other band members?
Tristan Fry admitted that he is not really a "drumset" player; he is more of a classical percussionist and the SKY albums
were a chance to have fun playing drums. I especially enjoyed the liner...
Jeff Bezos was a few years behind me, although I *think* he surpassed me financially.
Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson graduated a few years after Bezos.

The great thing about seeing his videos is that it makes me go back and visit albums I haven't listened to in years.
He really brings out the "rock" in "progressive rock"!
Kit Watkins
David Sancious
Lyle Mays
Keith Emerson
... and I'll add the double keys of Dave Greenslade/Dave Lawson.
Sorry if this was answered upthread, but do we know how much (if any) was recorded before Alan White's passing?

Sam Dunn's documentary on Triumph is on AXS-TV tonight at 9pm EST.
Sorry for the short notice.
"60 Minutes" is doing a feature on Zimmer this Sunday.
I liked the song a lot, then I saw the video and liked it even more:

Reminds me of when I saw them at NEARFest and a fan yelled out a song title

Ed Wynne gave a puzzled look and said, "We...
I tend to agree:

Thanks for that, Dana... that was beautiful!
KANSAS at the Hollywood Sportatorium October 1977. They were touring for the Point Of Know Return album.
Re: Seeing a band live vs. watching a dvd performance...
If I am seeing it live, I can look where I want as opposed to being at the mercy of the camera. I don't need to see an "audience flyover"...
Mostly I prefer some variations from a studio recording, although there will always be a few "Can they pull it off live?" moments
that I look forward to hearing.
ELP- Love Beach
The band didn't want to do the album, but were contractually obligated.
There is no producer credited.

Gotta agree with Moe!
Enidi, can you name the groups/musicians you toured with?
I first heard them on a college radio station, and I was mesmerized (even started a PE thread asking for recommendations).
This was the track, and it vaguely reminded me of Tony Hooper-era Strawbs....
(raises hand embarrassed) My family got our first color TV around 1969. It was always a big deal in the neighborhood, and the kids with color TVs

There was another thread where people were talking about time passing more quickly as we get older and I realized
NEARFest ended on June 24 2012! Ten years!! Really?!
As great as it was to see...
Apologies if it was mentioned earlier, but I was watching Beautiful Boy starring Steve Carrell and
a good amount of Pavlov's Dog was playing during a pivotal scene.

Today I saw a BMW with a license plate that read "ZEUHL".
I think the press blurb was specifically referring to "Foreplay/Long Time" as being "the perfect marriage between Led Zeppelin and Yes".
I remember hearing every single track from Boston's debut...
Andy Murray is "British" at Wimbledon until he loses...
and then he becomes a "Scotsman". ;)

I remember Rob LaDuca flying out of his seat at NEARfest 2003 to quiet someone who was talking while Camel started
the intro to "Ice".
I always thought the "weariness" in his vocal was perfect on that song; I loved it!
I don't know how he would have fared on other tunes.
Koreabruce: I much prefer DVDs to the experience of "being there".
I understand the frustrations expressed by some concertgoers here, but I still prefer the live experience...
mostly because the...
Doesn't he know that Bruford is retired?!
... and Phil Collins is in poor health physically.
... hmmm, that leaves Carl Palmer as the only viable candidate.
Three bars of 7/8 and then a bar of 4/4.
Ron, do you remember if the Triumph roadcrew band played original tunes or covers? I'm sorry you missed seeing Derringer that time, but just imagine how excited
the roadcrew must have been to...
But then you would only get two drum solos instead of five. ;)

Agreed. :lol
However, Bruford said that Moon would have been the perfect drummer for the Crimson track, "Indiscipline"...
and he wasn't being dismissive.
