Great show last night if you love 12 strings! Well-rehearsed band.
The book is well written and offers a good look behind the scenes of the day. Edgar was a very literate person which makes this book stand apart from the many other musician autobiographies that are...
A drum machine...… yikes. C'mon Al
From Jazz Times "Alas, washed out is the tension between craftsmanship and inspiration that lies at the core of jazz’s identity."
Fill the pockets of the promoter....As above, just go see the Musical Box, the full band is there and you get great seats for 40 clams just like the old days.
Roger & Brian Eno...……..Mixing Colours
BTW- Has anyone read the Roedelius autobiog?

Good show Saturday night! Saw them for the first time. Lots of 12 string and chords. The band is not muddy sounding but I think the vocalist is mixed even with everyone else so its hard to make out...
WOW thought I would never see this band but a Saturday night (Feb 8) on the Manchvegas strip for $25 clams no less! Now we just have to get GONG over here next...…..
They played Islands last night from 1969!
Is the Blu-Ray video or just 5.1 higher rez audio?
In a Rolling Stone article, the interviewer said something like what's the difference between ELP and the Grateful Dead and Greg said something like: We can play any type of music.
How do we get these guys to come to the states?
Could someone post the contract terms?
Would like that grand piano guarantee to secure a ticket..... I've seen & heard many people play solo piano and loved the way it's played and the SOUND of that instrument. If its going to be excerpts...
He brings a grand piano with him? I know the venue I might go to does not have one. I'd be disappointed to hear an electric piano for a solo concert.
Is it saloon style with bow tie and show girl?
What music does he play? Is it all piano or some synth too? He plays full songs right?
This is the 5.1 remastered tour
They played Can Utility..... plus did some instrumentals from various albums that were beautiful. Really nice to hear this music played LIVE. That drummer was amazing.
Look at the recent Stereophile "In the Round" article describing 5.1 with Roon's Nucleus+. If I were to start over I might go this route, Roon core + Endpoint + 5.1 AMP. I have a HT preamp/processor...
Check out Emerson's "Three Fates" recording for an CD that is not compressed. Well done. Also I think EJ Reunion DVD is also non-compressed. If you have a decent amp these really sound good.
I saw tickets were on sale for FRANK, so I assumed Zappa but it was for the Sinatra Hologram tour........ Be careful out there or maybe it's the same band, different hologram?
Went to see ELP's first tour with some older guys, didn't know who they were. Never looked back after that.
Is there a new lineup of songs for this tour? I saw them in Boston last time.
The "Sorcerer" film really should be called "The Truck"
Epsilon in Malaysian Pale-EF
Roger Waters
Gong-could have been.....
Send the Mounties after this guy and tie him to the RR Tracks.
GONG is cancelled in Montreal...? If true can someone suggest an alternative for TH nite. Already have a hotel etc. Are there any jazz clubs or maybe I should be going to a blues festival?
Is that Pig Pen or Linus on drums?
That's a great title for a new Fripp n Eno album "701"
Bringing together stunning musicians from around the world under a crowd funding project doesn't seem like the best way to get the creative juices flowing? I would rather we chip in for a used van...
How's the album?
GIANT in the Box? It would be nice to hear some GG live played by someone?
Did anyone else notice all the 4th Dimension members wearing the same shoes? They were black and had white trim. They must be special jazz shoes. Anyone know who makes them? They might make you swing.
Sara McLaughlin's "I Love You" from Surfacing found a defect in one of speakers woofers. woof woof
Camel
Gong
Curved Air
801
Just received my copy of Force Majeure, EF Autobiography. Big book......
Second time seeing Herring and I feel the same way. Extremely talented but lacks what McLaughlin has - swing. It's those unique attributes that move you, making you wanting more. Santana, Gilmour,...
rat tat tat..... a little much and Husband on drums?
Last night I noticed John just isn't the same guy when he straps on that doubleneck
Islands, Moonchild live........ Sound was very good 1/2 way back in the lovely Orpheum Theatre.
Earth, stream and tree encircled by sea
Waves sweep the sand from my island.
My sunsets fade.

Regarding the Al references (Scenario), I believe the album was commissioned and not Al's "latest". It's evidence that you can't just put musicians together from different walks of life just cause...
Have you seen him play in his trio? The guy is killing it and whatever $ he's making playing those small venues, he's working pretty hard for it.
The DVD has some nice insight into how an album is mixed.
SC Band Lineup: Stanley Clarke: basses, Mike Mitchell: drums, Cameron Graves: keyboards, Beka Gochiashvili: piano, keyboards.
New blood. I have seen Beka, amazing, more like Keith Jarrett to me...
Nov 26 - Tupelo Music Hall - Londonderry, NH
Acoustic Bonilla?
Seeing a musician playing a bank of keyboards on all sides (jobson, emerson, wakeman) live gets the butterflies going for the audience. Maybe prog has suffered not because of Phil but from the...
I miss the lead bass too. Was Camp using a bass pedal like Rutherford used to use. The new band plays better with the new songs obviously. The current tour is playing songs that are better suited to...
Nice show last night, the band seems to be favoring songs that the current lineup can capitalize on based on their talents. Songs of the sea....
Disco sent artistic people for the hills
Great show last nite! So is John a cross between Mike Stern and Pete Townsend? My first time seeing these guys, Percy is just awesome on that 5 string.
Been listening to some Pink Floyd "live" on internet radio lately. There is some live material from early 1970's (Dark Side, Meddle) that they have which is nice and raw without that overproduced...
Has anyone else ever noticed the style similarities of Frank's orchestra sound with Centipede's, Septober Energy (Pt 2)?
This guy is a class act. He will outlast them all!
Piano Concerto
Take A Pebble
The Barbarian
Knife Edge
Tank
How about Flowers, Bonilla and Palmer?
Got to love the 12 string guitar, just don't get enough of that these days.
