Not unusual for elderly musicians to sell their back catalogue but this goes a step further:

Stephen Hawking.
Well, he's a better vocalist than Roger Waters anyway...
Cover band? Levin and Belew are 50% of that era's line-up (and a larger percentage of the writing). That's a better percentage than some bands doing the rounds.
Carl Palmer - clam lap err
Aren't some or all of those qualities prerequisites for a rock musician?
Maybe Fripp referring to himself?
I've transcribed the questions (paraphrasing them somewhat, because they can be a bit long-winded):
Who was their original drummer when they formed at Charterhouse in 1967, who later became an...
I quite like Saurez, but Hot Dog runs D'Yer Mak'er close for worse song ever by Led Zeppelin, or indeed by any major rock band.
Wearing and Tearing was Page and Plant's response to punk rock, but...
I've seen that on sale on CD in HMV or Fopp.
Noticed quite a lot of live releases from various artists, must be legit to some extent. Quite a few prominently labelled 'Made in Germany' or...
Yes, me too. Red minidress, boots and all. But I don't think Nichelle had blue eyes!
26 posts in and nobody's mentioned Roger Waters.
The organ sounds great but (IMHO) it's too ponderous an instrument to work with a song like Parallels. Like trying to tap dance with divers' boots on.
I purchased Volume 1 (Mainz/Asbury Park) in a record shop some years ago. It's currently available on Burning Shed.
A lot of musical in-fighting over the years. I started a list and realised I was running out of space (and enthusiasm).
Only if it was The Bangles. Yes - not so much.
I've seen all nude people ditch their threads each day.
When Zepp turned up at their induction John Paul Jones made a snarky comment about his band mates finally remembering his phone number.
Mea culpa. My theory appears to be based purely on the song 'Jack-in-the-green' :(
Children following you, with their laughter so cold?
You are Jon Anderson AICMFP.
No, Songs From The Wood is springtime.
Heavy Horses is autumnal.
Stormwatch is the wintry one.
I did a bit of digging - it's called Disaster on the Coastliner. As well as The Shat, it has Lloyd Bridges (rehearsing for Airplane), Raymond Burr, Pat Hingle and Yvette Mimieux.
...
Did Shatner do a made-for-TV movie about a convict on a runaway train who prevents a disaster? Really vague memory from many years ago, one memory is of a scene where a gang of railway workers hold a...
Interesting article here:
Original photo from Led Zeppelin IV album cover discovered
I think it was just biker chic - Hell's Angels were into Nazi imagery, sporting swastikas and wearing coal-scuttle helmets. In the 60s/70s the swastika didn't have the same resonance it has today.
:up
For why? Did he get a knock-back from Annie Haslam or something?
I think that comes under the category of the bleedin' obvious though. Seconds Out is more subtle and I honestly don't think they'd make such a big thing out of Hackett's departure twice in a row.
Fair point. But 'Scenes' and 'Lady Lies' just stand out to me.
B - Curate's Egg. Don't really like Scenes From a Night's Dream (childish, awful lyrics) or The Lady Lies (tries to be 'epic' but just silly, awful lyrics). Ballad of Big, Snowbound, Many Too Many...
Jethro Tull - 'Reason for Waiting' on 'Stand Up'.
Car, Scratch, Melt and Security. I think the fourth album was actually titled 'Security' in the US?
Yes, there never was a Peter Gabriel 2, 3 or 4.
Two '2' albums that never had a '1':
XTC Go 2
Neil Young Chrome Dreams II
They have several chief weapons.
There's a TV drama to be made out of this. It makes 'The Sopranos' look like 'Happy Days'.
The home page of that group kind of sets the tone.
:rofl
Apparently the po-faced twats responsible for the original don't like it, which makes it even more enjoyable.
What's the blurry bit right of centre?
Stevie/Lindsey: "It's really up to Lindsey/Stevie"
What sort of crazy fool talk is this?
Leave any CD (or cassette) in a car long enough and it will turn into a copy of Queen's Greatest Hits.
That would be from the 'Radio One' double LP from 1989, no? The liner notes were written by Lelend Stein (me neither) but possibly under Douglas's instructions. I actually had no idea Douglas was...
Me too. Although if someone comes up with Tom Waits singing Cygnus X-1, then I might be tempted.
Gillan in one interview says he went out for a drink with Tony Iommi and when he woke/sobered up he found he'd joined Sabbath.
As Old Grey Whistle Test presenter Bob Harris said of them, "mock rock". But, then, he was equally snippy about Roxy Music.
Yes, only seen it on TV once, many years ago. By comparison, The French Connection is probably showing on a TV somewhere right now.
The French Connection is one of those films that, if it turns up on TV, I end up watching it.
Apart from that, the only other films I'm familiar with are Sorceror and To Live And Die In LA....
Here in the UK some roundabouts have traffic lights as well. :rofl
Money is far and away the worst track on the album but I don't trust him not to cock up the rest of it. What's he going to do with Any Colour You Like?
Includes the epic "F*** Off You Crazy Asshole".
You want one of these:

I didn't see him as a nutter right from the start but right from the start he never comes across as a family man, either in his treatment of his wife or his son.
I'm not a great fan but prompted by a live concert I saw recently on Sky Arts I bought 'Disintegration' and liked its dark mood. Bought 'Wish' as well but haven't listened to it yet.
Heh, I remember complaints about his solo on Peter Gabriel's "I Don't Remember" as well.
Heh, yes, me too, although I had heard of some of them - Robot Monster regularly shows up in 'World's Worst Movies' articles for example.
8/11 and I've never seen any of them!
Because there are now 50 different editions of TB. At least.
